Pipeline show compared Leipsic to Gallagher on the Habs. Sounding more and more like a higher skilled Hornqvist

Gallagher, Marchand are good "upside" pointers.

I don't know if i'd say "more skilled" Hornqvist, at least...I'm not sure I see him producing at the level Hornqvist does because his game is harder to translate to the NHL.

From what i've seen of Leipsic this year(about 15 games), I see him as a 15-ish goal sparkplug. A better version of Matt Halischuk, basically.

If he is another Gallagher, I'm salivating at the thought of him on our team.

I'm quoting pipeline for that. They seen a lot of Leipsic. As for the other part that is my observation

Will he be in Milwaukee next year, or another year in juniors?

Too bad he can't come to the AHL. Seems like he's proven all he can in juniors. Oh well, I guess he can be a leader next year, and he probably is losing some of his super line mates as well.

Memorial Cup could be set Sunday,

OHL game 6, if London wins London goes to Saskatoon

WHL game 6 Sunday. If Portland wins, Leipsic and the Winterhawks go to Saskatoon.

We have no other decent goalie prospects, but it's still possible. Doubt he is moved.

Paul Martin for him? I heard Martin turned it around this year and he would be a nice addition to go with Klein.

Send a message via AIM to Seth Lake
Per his agent, Mark Van Guilder has been rewarded with a two-way NHL contract starting next season. A leader in Milwaukee, MVG will provide quality depth for the organization.

Three time AHL Man of the Year receipent.

Not really much of a suprise. But DP will take a goalie this year maybe two If he gets a offer for Hellberg.

Is there a 7 foot tall Scandinavian in the later rounds?

He wasn't even with us this past year or last if I'm not mistaken. What does this have to do with DP? Not sure where you're coming from is why I ask.

The point I am making is that DP needs to reload the goalie prospects. Hellberg is afuture NHL starter so hes not going to be sitting behind Rinne. In fact I suspect he would be moved before Oct . Smith may well be the back-up here next year and its not for sure he will be a starter in the league. This leaves the pipeline empty of potential goalies playing in Noth America. That is the point I was making, Pickard is not on the radar for long term development.

I hope dp never uses a 1st round pick on a goalie again. Our 2 biggest flops have been 1st rounders used on goalies.

Deks has been out of our system for two seasons now. His move to the KHL is meaningless to our depth chart.

Smith is a decision point this summer. Mazanec and Hellberg are under contract. Luckily there aren't any goalies projected in the top 20 to tempt Poile this year. Even highly touted prospects like Jack Campbell have long development timelines and are uncertain ... he sat during the Calder Cup playoffs while Nilstorp kept giving up tons of goals in back to backs. Look mid to late, let Korn work his magic.

I'd like to see Hellberg challenge for the backup role next season. He ended last season on a very strong note and we could see that carry over to next season. Have to imagine Mason will be let go, so the spot will be up for grabs.

I think Smith will re-up for another 1 year, two-way deal. That will bring him to UFA status unless he plays 25 games. I highly doubts he wins the backup role out of camp so him reaching 25 games seems unlikely.

Hellberg's trade value is greatest right now, he will be a starter in the league in a couple years if we put him behind Rinne for a year his value could be hurt due to limited play. Smith would be an improvment over Mason and have the motivastion to improve where Mason knew he was a back-up at the end of his career. With Korns reputation and the Preds ability to develop goalies DP could get a late 2nd round pick for Hellberg and use late round picks to get more European goalies that we seem to have ability to find.

12 to 15 games will be the back-up workload with Pekka healthy but if hes injured the teams in trouble. So Hellberg staying would be the logical thing but this is athe team that re-signed Mason brought in Hannan to play a significant role so the logic become about as clear as Mud at times.
