Canucks at the WHC - Sweden wins Gold; Henrik named to All Star Team

If I'm not mistaken, last year's sole representatives were Alex Burrows (Canada) and Jannik Hansen (Denmark). With the playoffs starting a little later this year, is it even possible for a few of them to jump over to the tournament now that they have been eliminated?

MOD EDIT: Daniel Sedin, Henrik Sedin and Alexander Edler have been confirmed as joining Team Sweden.

Nicklas Jensen has been confirmed as joining Team Denmark.

Possible candidates;

Canada:
Roberto Luongo
Dan Hamhuis
Jason Garrison
Alexandre Burrows

USA:
Cory Schneider
Ryan Kesler
Chris Higgins

Sweden:
Henrik Sedin
Daniel Sedin
Alexander Edler

Denmark:
Jannik Hansen (Injured)

Canada definitely could use Luongo, Hamhuis and Garrison. Our goaltending is suspect, and our defense is absolutely atrocious.

Mike Smith and Devan Dubnyk are our goalies.

Lu hasn't played much hockey at all this year, and he wants out of Vancouver. Going to the WC's and backstopping Canada to a gold medal would definitely up his value and increase his chances of getting out of here. That, and I'd like to see Canada win

It's a bit late to start sending over players, but it's still possible.

I think the Twins might make the trip over to play for their country in their own barn.

I really think he should be perfectly fine (aside from some bumps/bruises). He barely even played this season at all, how can he already be injured in a 4 game post season?

Too much beastmoding. It's a very real problem, we're having a fun run to raise awareness next month.

The Twins were the likeliest suspects in my eyes, as well. They could use an injection of offense.

Either Garrison or Hamhuis would be good additions to Canada's blueline

uhh...because scoring at a PPG in the NHL is extremely difficult and really only the elite players do it consistently?

Surprised at the amount of vitriol directed towards the Sedins by Swedish fans. If I were them, I wouldn't be in too much of a hurry to go back and finish out their careers in Sweden if that's how they are going to be treated.

There was a lot of anger last year that they skipped out, IIRC. The fact that Daniel had just gotten over a major concussion was evidently lost on some.

Still - what have you done for me lately? If they have a good showing this to round, it may help to ease over some wounds.

I'm more surprised at the outright hostility from our own fans, but oh we'll.

Best of luck to the Twins and Edler on Team Sweden.
