That's pretty terrible if it takes his GM screaming at him how stupid he is to get Tmac to finally change.

Just in time for the NHL post-season, the Nelson Sports Museum has a new addition.

Though Vancouver Canucks fans will not be thrilled with the timing, the San Jose Sharks have donated a jersey that is signed by three of the players who took part in the 1996 U18 Pacific Cup that was hosted by Nelson.

Patrick Marleau and Joe Thornton were key components of Team Canada that won a gold medal in the 1996 tournament before a packed house at the Civic Centre. Canada’s opponent in that final game was Team USA which included Scott Gomez. All three players now suit up for the Sharks.

Sounds like Sharks might have revamped jerseys next season.

Si.com's Hot Clicks is now rooting against the Sharks thanks to Randy and Drew's anti-green men insults:

Earlier this week, Hot Clicks threw its Stanley Cup playoff support behind the L.A. Kings. We’re now shifting gears to basically rooting for any team other than the San Jose Sharks after their announcers disparaged the Vancouver’s Green Men last night with a series of lame insults.

They don't really bother me, and they are occasionally moderately funny, but who cares. Drew is right on one thing, they are incredibly infantile humor.

I believe it was Barracuda Networks that sponsored some guys last year to do it at the Tank. Embarrassing IMO and I hope they're not back this year.

Cool, interested to see what changes will be made. Just a question I had, the article said "It would definitely be nice to see them lose the chest number on the front of the uniforms". I hear people rag on the chest number a lot. Anyone happen to know why? The first time I noticed it I thought it was kind of cool but most people seem to think it's really lame.

Wyshynski gets in on the action too: "Score one for the Sharks announcers... how many snow globes can one strategically place inside a green bodysuit?"

http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nhl-pu...043229042.html

I enjoy a spirited rivalry, but maybe Randy and Drew should stay zeroed in on shenanigans from clowns like Bieksa who fork-lifted Havlat's groin. Snowglobers Unite! Fight Da Power!

I found this article on Nemo's offseason prep interesting:

http://www.theglobeandmail.com/sport...02/?cmpid=rss1

Quote:
Last season, before the 2011-12 campaign began, Niemi had a cyst removed near one of his knees. It had not really affected his game but it definitely hampered his ability to work in the gym.
Quote:
The long furlough that preceded the truncated 2013 season gave Niemi, finally, time to work. Among his moves was to bring over a mentor from his junior days in the Helsinki suburb where he grew up, importing some Finnish wisdom for a month of work in San Jose. Some key training was core work – no pucks. Niemi pushed through skating drills – “all-around skating” – holding a 15-kilogram plate in front of his abs, left hand and right hand, like a shield. It was an idea his old coach had a decade ago but Niemi wasn’t interested then.

“It’s for your core,” Niemi said on Thursday, between games in Vancouver. “When you go down, sliding, if your balance is not good, you’re going to fall.”

They dont really belong on hockey jerseys and with the front helmet numbers, are not needed... And they clutter the jerseys when patches are worn.

Chest #s - easier for broadcasters, photographers to identify players. (Same reason they required them on the front of helmets)

Draft selections 2013 (updated after Hannan played in post season)

Sharks have own 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th, 7th plus NYR 2nd, Pit 2nd, Clg 7th (186th overall).

Not sure if it was mentioned anywhere but they came out with the top-10s for the season on NHL.com. Boyle's goal was #6 and Desjardins hit on Fraser was #1.

Better news for Tommy Wingels who says he's all ready to go for round 2 after a nasty spill into the boards in OT. #sjsharks
