First Lessard, now this guy, seems like Dallas has a thing for Hobey Baker talent.

Why not go for a PROVEN winner like Kariya!

Maybe, Collins didn't want to sign with the Stars.
As long as Sertich develops he's more then just a filler.

How do you know they won't sign Hisey?

It's still possible, have to see if he's at the development camp or not.

I doubt he's 5'8 more like 5'6.

Sportsnet.ca has Sertich re-signing with Dallas. A three-year entry-level deal. Re-signing would imply he had previously been with Dallas, did he sign a try-out with the Stars following his last NCAA season this past spring? That Gazzette article posted by Walzy has him signing a two-year deal and only mentions LA and a few ECHL teams as having interest in him after his college career ended.

Thanks in advance.

no, i think he never had sth to do with the Stars before...and he's 23 years old, so his entry-level contract can only be for 2 years due the CBA

Thanks, just looking for a bit of verification from Stars fans on weather or not Sertich was somehow with the Stars after his NCAA season concluded. Upon reading it, I had found the article posted in this thread to be more reliable a source than the blurb on the sportsnet.ca transactions page.

5'8", 165lbs., and 250 lbs. of heart. Consider yourselves "blessed by the hockey gods" for getting the kid. He will surprise you with his hockey sense, passing ability, focus and commitment to the game. He is a player, a real winner at every level. Somehow, the "old way of the play" seems to die hard. Trust me, he can flat play.

Frankly, there have been many players much more noticeable than Sertich. IMO, Krys Barch, James Neal and Joel Lundqvist are three that fall in that same category that have been far more noticeable than Sertich.

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram had a nice article on Sertich today.
http://www.dfw.com/mld/dfw/sports/hockey/15591500.htm

Here's a quote from it:
"Sertich is a guy who plays a very smart game and stays out of trouble," Stars coach Dave Tippett said. "He has ultra-skill. He's one of those guys who I know players like him because he makes other players better."
