Ovechkin is absolutely right...we are not being physical with him at all.

After seeing what the Senators are doing to the Habs best players, watching the Islanders get all under the skin of Crosby, Malkin, etc., and watching what teams like the Blues and Kings are doing to each other...NOTHING like that is happening to the Caps' skill players.

It's an easy series for them physically, which is not good for us.

OV may be right about them not being physical enough on him, but he's not exactly taking the series over either. I don't care how they keep him off the board so long as it works.

1. Our D is honestly pretty soft.
2. Wonder if this is OV trying to get the blood boiling a little to draw some more PPs. Doubt he was smart enough to think that all the way through though.

Can Nash be Jamie Lannister? He's got the flow, and he used to be able to slice and dice his way through defenses but it seems like something is missing now..

Never said Ovechkin was wrong. But for him to say that pisses me off. Someone knock him on his ass.

Ryane "Probable" Clowe should address some physicality issues? or perhaps he's in 80% mode and not ready to make the physical plays yet?

I think Clowe was in 80% mode BEFORE his most recent injury.

Byron Boy for Smythe?

By the way, where did that name come from? I know Doc used it in a game, but where did he get it?

could certainly use Ryane "did not get any sleep on the plane" Clowe tonight, our offensve players have not come to play. I'd imagine we need to rely on secondary scoring just like the last game.

Also, what happened to "split the d once a game" Nash? The easiest answer is Torts but it's interesting how he's keeping to the outside and relinquishing that power forward status except when he's behind the net or around the net trying to use his reach.

He hasn't had the puck as much. We don't ever have any offense promoting type of defending or transition in our zone and in the neutral zone to give Nash what he needs and he doesn't need much. Our structured breakout where AT BEST we set up in their zone by rimming the puck back up to the point is not what you wanna do with Nash.

I find it hilarious how Torts doesn't coach the power play or do much work on the offense and sticks to his defensive system but practices odd man rushes. odd man rushes are as rare as one timers for us and only happens when there's a defensive breakdown from the opposition where they have too many guys too deep and the puck bounces our way.

Has nothing to do with Torts. He's tried it, this is playoff hockey. Nash needs to wake up and realize that **** doesn't work during the real season.

It's not just splitting the D. The guy has heart but he just doesn't have the puck often enough to make anything happen it seems. Sam gets excited when Nash has the puck entering the zone and lately, I haven't heard the same "Rick Nash... with the puck" from Sam.

We aren't being dominated but we're getting outplayed in the neutral zone. You can argue that in game 3 we were more evenly matched and definitely more even in the respective defensive zones. In the neutral zone however, we're being completely stymied and eventually pushed to the outside and that basically reduces Nash to puck retrieval and dishing it either down low or to the point and then if we get set up, he's just standing there waiting for the puck. Once he gets the puck, he doesn't have the space or time to do much with it.

We need to be quicker in the neutral zone and the forwards need to just skate it in and make a move toward the center of the ice.
