Bob is a #1 cop in town but good for Nemo. I'm actually surprised he got the recognition in the first place.

But Bobrovsky has the media hype so he'll win it. It makes for a better story, and that's all they care about when you boil it down.
Wins and plus/minus are never "where it counts". They're probably two of the worst stats that exist in the sport.

If the top 2 isn't Nemo and Bob in some order, they should rethink having GMs vote on the Vezina.

It'll be Lundqvist, but Lundqvist's shutout total SHOULD disqualify him, but it won't. I truly think Niemi was the best goalie in the NHL this season and deserves it, but it probably won't end up that way.
Shutout totals shouldnt matter.

In any case Im really happy for Niemi I hope he at least get named to the 2nd All-Star team.

Realize that this is voted on by the 30 GMs (not writers, broadcasters).

It's great that he's been recognized for his hard work this year (and during the lockout).

(I'm still waiting to hear what's happening with the "NHL Awards" event. All I know is that it was scheduled for Vegas before the lockout, but not on the schedule for events anywhere last I looked at the NHL calendar.)
You gotta figure Columbus's GM will vote for Bob and DW will vote for Niemi. Dale Tallon (Florida's current GM and the Cup winning GMof Chicago) might vote for Niemi. I highly doubt Philly's GM will vote for Bob

Niemi deserves it. I hope he wins just because I'm selfish.

No, it's still a deciding factor that Bobrovsky missed the playoffs and Niemi made it. I think it'll be Lundqvist, Bob, Nemo.

Congrats Nemo, but you will be robbed of the Vezina like another Sharks goaltender

I remember all the haters from last year who chastised Nemo, glad to see my guy bounce back

Nemo has been a brick wall all year. So happy to see him get the nomination. I just want to point out that I was one of the few defending Niemi when everyone wanted him gone

I wouldn't say robbed. You can make a solid argument for both Lundqvist and Bob.

Yeah he was the whipping boy around here while he had .915% sv% and we were like 5th in GA and around 25th in GF. I guess it was just "cool" to bad mouth him.

With that said, GRATS NEMO! Well deserved

Great to see his stellar season rewarded with a nomination. I don't think he'll get it either - he might if he played for the Rangers :-)

Yes, sorry for the miscue but the result is the same as I doubt those GMs have been traveling to watch Niemi or Bobs play this year.
