Because exactly two NHLers are on their roster?

Random side note: Antii Pihlstrom and Teemu Laakso both are playing for the Fins.

Finnish national team that has exactly zero NHLers on it. Lauri Korpikoski is the only active NHLer, and he didn't play today.

Smith killed it today. There no excuse for rosters. If they were so bad why didnt the states blow them out of the water?

Also,
Is barkov not eligible to play for Finns due to age?

Pretty sure he is having surgery due to an injury.

Ah, right lol. Totally slipped my mind haha

But despite his age, is he still allowed to have played in the tournament? Like Lindholm on Sweden, jones on USA, Mack and drouin on Canada.
Or are they not allowed due to their age?

Because Trotz is not the coach of the USA team.

Yes, they are allowed to play if selected by their country. Forsberg participated in exhibition games for Sweden leading up to the event, but was not selected for the final roster. He will be in the near future, although hopefully he is rarely available for the World Championships!

Josi with another great game, 2 assists, especially the 2nd one (on the 3-1) was world class. In the highlights you just see the last part of the play.

Josi is incredible. Just incredible.

I really hope we sign Streit. The chance to mentor the guy who may end up as the best Swiss player of all time has to be a nice draw.

Depends on the term. He'll put up points and help on the PP, but that -41 over the past two seasons is ugly (6 worse than the next d-man, Hamonic). Granted, he logs a ton of minutes, which may skew that a bit. He's also on the wrong side of 35. I'd be interested in him, but not for $4.1M per he's making this year, and also not for any longer than probably a 2 year term at most.

Now way! Streit will sign a 3-4 years contract and then retire as an Islander.

Yeah Josi is the player I'm really getting excited about for next year. The better he is the quicker I can forget about someone else.
