Higgins/Ryder - Koivu - Kovalev
Sammy - Ribs - Ryder/Higgins
Tender - Plecanek - Jonhson
Perezhogin - Bonk - Begin

I don't mind switching the wingers on the first 2 lines, but please no Kovy-Ribs-Sammy together. Way too fancy, just like they are trying to impress each other.

Higgins Koivu Ryder line has been the only productive line we have had. Why would you want to break it? They are not the problem.

They still havent tried Plekanec between the russians. I'd say they try that one and if it doesnt work, then split them.

For Monday's game:

Higgins-Koivu-Ryder
Samsonov-Plekanec-Kovalev
Latendresse-Bonk-Johnson
Begin-Lapierre-Ferland

Not sure if it would work well though, but I would give it a try.

Wow, Tender is on everyone's line-up. I hope he makes it this year because so far in this camp, I think he deserves it.

I would try this for next game:

Perezhogin-Koivu-Kovalev
Kostitsyn-Ribeiro-Latendresse
Samsonov-Plekanec-Johnson
Lapierre-Begin-Ferland

my reasoning:
-Give Perezhogin a huge chance to show his ability and to assure his spot on the team.
-I wanna see how Latendresse does without Bonk(see if he can play on numerous lines) + I wanna see how Kostitsyn does if he has someone who can pass him the puck and someone who can dig in the corners.
-Pleks and Johnson are always moving and working hard so I wanna see if Samsonov will be visible with them or not
-Giving the two youngsters a chance with Begin.

I like the idea of putting Pez back with Koivu and Kovalev, they worked well at the start of last year and that was when Pez was inexperienced and Kovalev was playing on one leg. With the poor form weve shown recently, I reckon they'd be more motivated, Kovy could take Pez under his wing again and Koivu can keep firing passes to the both of them.

As for the second line, there is one thing that I'd definately change about it and one that i might. The thing that should be changed (in my opinion) is switch the wingers around so Lats plays LW and Kost on the right. The thing I might change is having Pleks centre them, but I'd be happy for Ribs to start off with them. But if he is going to be ineffective again, put pleks onto that line.

I like the rest of those lines too, but I may be tempted to play Bonk instead of Begin

Gosh I sure hope these preseason points add to the standings!

Really, you can score a hat trick and no one will care.

why is there talk of playing with the Koivu line? Each of them played great last night individually, and as a group, they clearly have chemistry. Neither of them is the issue - it is the Kovalev line that is the problem. Sansomov is invisible and Kovalev is floating around.

I'm not pushing the alarm button, I'm just pointing out the fact that this line doesn't seem to be working out as expected, and maybe the coaching staff should do something about it.

Give the line some time. Can't expect them to get instant chemistry.

This is something I've been wondering aswell. I would keep Koivu line together until there are no other alternatives .... before that give Plekanec, Bonk and Johnson equal opportunities between the Kovalev and Samsonov.

Heres what I'd like to see tested on Monday:

Samsonov Plekanec Kovalev
Kostitsyn Ribeiro Johnson
Latendresse Bonk Perezhogin
Murray Begin Ferland

I'd just start by trying Plekanec between Samsonov and Kovalev. I know that Ribeiro on the third line is risky, but since we're stuck with him anyway...

I was transfering my hockey tape and there was that game january 8th Kostitsyn played with kovalev and Koivu

Kosy-Koivu-kovalev

it was b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l , perezhogin could also do well in that line

That wouldn't help ; The problem of the line is that you have 3 players that like to control the puck . Plekanec is also a playmaker . The line needs a finisher .

Yesterday 's game also showed that the problem of the line wasn't Ribeiro but Samsonov who was again invisible .

So cuz Ribs did bad 1 pre-season game, you just waive him or lose him? Hahaha.... Lines should be;

Higgins - Koivu - Ryder (don't mess with this line, it's gold)
Latendresse - Ribs - Kovalev (adds a physical factor to the line that it's lacked and a natural goal scorer)
Samsonov - Plekanec - Johnson (just a natural speedy 2 way line)
Begin - Bonk - Murray (same as last year)
