He definitely has a ton of talent and he's still very young but I fear there will always be issues with his decision making ability. Just my opinion though.

The thing with Del Zotto it seems is that, when he's on his game he's damn good, when he's Del Zaster, man oh man is he a ****ing Del Zaster

I know Im not usually the voice of reason on these forums, i usually only vent frustration, but good thing you said this. I swear sometimes I wonder what kind of people post on these forums, or watch hockey in general.

Del Zoto is a bubble head, whoever else said he has a hockey IQ of 10 is right.

I believe most have said it. DZ can play like a top 4 D man when on his game. The problem is the lack of a consistent play/decision making. I am reminded by the minor league baseball pitcher that throws better than 97 MPH along with a dynamic curve. If you see the pitcher you are left wondering why he isn't in the majors. The problem, he can't get the ball over the plate with enough consistency. Thus he stays in the minors.

Yes, DZ is only 23. Yes he is young. We have been saying that he is on the verge of stardom for 4 yrs now. We have seen incremental progress so do we just hold on as his trade value diminishes? Are many saying that John Moore is a kid who is only 23 as well? He is making some mistakes on D as well. He seems to skate well and has a good low shot. When I compare DZ to J.Moore I don't see DZ's vast upside that I would have expected to see by now.

IMO, he was absolutely brutal tonight. Dreaded any moment that he was on the ice after the latter part of the 2nd and knew that Torts had to glue him to the bench late.

Must say that I was lmfao on the, I think 3rd goal(?), where he tried to played defense. Good times.

Brutal is the word. My heart skips a beat whenever he is on the ice in a 3rd period

He pulled his oblique putting on a leather jacket over another one he was currently wearing.

Bad slide on that goal, but most of the credit goes to Em, at least he was back and tried

Reminds me alot of Matt Schnieder.

Not a bad thing, but depends on whether there become better options down the road with cap space as a consideration.

i saw the game again today and paid special attention to DZ, he was not "atrocious". That slide was iffy and somebody needs to talk to him about it, but besides that, i thought he was decent.

He had a couple of good rushes end to end, has been playing the body in his own end.
Can he play better? Sure he can, but he is far from "atrocious".

He has been the whipping boy du jour for a while now and people are focusing on the 1 or 2 mistakes he makes in a game.

Del Zotto has been our worst dman this playoffs...that is 2 playoffs in a row where the competition has gotten the better of him...that is a very bad sign.

He hasn't produced points and his defense has been really bad.

If some dumb GM who is looking for that elusive "puck moving dman" and is willing to pay a nice ransom, I would move him.

I take it you're referring to that 2 game stretch in last year's playoffs?

MDZ is an "offensive" d-man who doesn't shoot the puck well, doesn't skate well, has a questionable hockey iq and can't run a powerplay. I would trade him if the offer is good enough.

In fairness, that was 10% of the total playoff games played. 10%!!!

You guys that want to get rid of MDZ are out of your freakin' minds.

All the same things being posted on here were said about Zubov at one time. Is he the same player as Z? not the point. (But he might be.)

Zubie used to miss the net on the PP all the time. We remember the times he hit the twine now though.

If we were to send him (MDZ) elsewhere, we will regret it. That's the point.

Still a lot of upside to develop here.

I'm a MDZ supporter and certainly don't want to get rid of him at this early stage. That being said, he's been terrible in this series.

He's still a young player, at times we've seen his skill and hockey IQ break through. Not worried about his development but with the emergence of Moore, he is more expendable than previously thought.

He's 22 ****ing years old and we have 2 dmen playing 30 minutes a night when Staal is out. He's in no way expendable. Give the kid some time to develop.
