"Core" players that got traded and won the cup with a new team?

All I can think of currently are Carter and Richards, mostly because of a previous thread, but this is more about, players and teams that had to trade core members of either cup teams, or just very good teams and went on to win it all? Or does it mostly not work out when a team brings in say, an Iginla, or a Suter?

Well the most famous one is Ray Bourque.

A more recent one would be Tomas Kaberle.

But really I'm sure there are lots. Just look at each Stanley Cup winner, and there is usually a core guy who was traded in recently.

I don't really know if he was part of the core, but Peverley was one of the Thrashers' better forwards when they traded him to Boston

Joe Niewendyk was traded to the Devils during the 2002 season, then won the cup in 2003 with the same team.

Pronger was dealt to the Ducks in 07, and won the cup. I'm sure he'd have been considered a core piece if he didn't demand a trade.

Chris Kunitz was dealt to the Pens in 09, and won the cup.

Just a few recent ones I could think of.

Patrick Roy for sure. Important key in the two Canadiens Stanley Cups, and then ended up winning two more with the Avs.

Messier was also a pretty important player for the Oilers, but ended up getting traded as a cost-cutting measure to the Rangers. He'd of course end up helping the Rangers win their lone 90s Stanley Cup.

Doug Weight in 06. After the lock out, he was one of the few faces the Blues had left. They dealt him, he won his Cup, and he came back.

Was Brind'Amor traded to Carolina?

Messier, Roy, Bourque, Lanny MacDonald (was he traded to Calgary?)
