Hawk fans need to understand that players of his caliber aren't readily available. Ever.

Trade Seabs?? Is the OP high? I admit he hasn't had a great year, but the dude is a top pair defenseman and one of the best in the NHL and you want to trade to use the money to keep two dudes that arent dmen? That makes a **** load of sense.

While we are trading one of the best dmen in the league I say while we are at it lets trade Toews, Kane, and Hoss and replace them with career AHLers. We really should get rid of Toews you know since he hasn't produced for us yet in the playoffs.

This forum is ridiculous at times, a guy has a few bad games, a bad stretch, even an off year and suddenly half the board wants him shipped off for scrubs in return.

Because it's impossible for people to bounce back after having an off year, right?

In the last 18 months this board has traded, cut, bought out, etc.
Kane
Keith
Hossa
Sharp
Bolland
Seabrook
Crawford
Emery
Hammer
Leddy
Odyua
Bickell
Stalberg
Kruger
Frolik

Yeah we'd be so much better without those scrubs.

You didn't even mention the worst player on our team, the guy has 0pts in 3 playoff games....against the Minnesota freaking Wild.

Toews should be at the top of everyones trade list...just brutal.

I still think the Oilers would give up Gagner and Paajarvi for a Seabrook and Toews package. Get 'er done, Stan.

Yes, hopefully to Montreal forEller but we may need to add Kane.

Yeah right, Toews and Seabrook have never had 8 points combined in a game. Toews and Seabrook alone aren't enough to get Gagner, we would have to add a 1st and probably TT. Would be worth it though, 8th nights all nights.

In all fairness that gives us a lineup of

Saad-Toews-Toews
Toews-Toews-Toews
Toews-Shaw-Toews
Bollig-Toews-Toews

Toews-Toews
Toews-Toews
Brookbank-Roszival

Toews

Unstoppable imo

And Saad, neither he nor Shaw or Rozi have played enough yet. None have played a gull 82 game season has a Hawk yet.

Toews is the Captain and Conn Smythe winner so he is safe.

But the rest of those scrubs......

Dealing our only "heavy" back there who can play 25 minutes per game would be a bad idea. He still brings a lot of defensive intangibles to the table.

I agree. If you trade him you would have to get back someone just like him.

Too many people discount hits and blocked shots when looking at defenseman. I don't get it. Those things that don't show up on the standard score sheet are the things he thrives on. He's more of the "behind-the-scenes" kind of defenseman.

In point of fact, by the numbers, Seabrook had a career year.

http://www.nhl.com/ice/player.htm?id=8470607

The team won the President's Trophy while giving up the fewest goals in the NHL. The level of hallucinogenic drug abuse by many HF posters has reached epidemic proportions.

Not really. core is Toews, Kane, Sharp, Hossa, Keith, and Seabrook. Bowman made that crystal clear after the Cup win. Pending an epic collapse from Seabrook, which he hasn't had (yet) there's no way any of the above mentioned 6 players would ever, ever, EVER be moved.

There is no realistic upgrade on Seabrook. Think about it, if Seabs (a top pairing #1/#2 dman) the Hawks would HAVE to get a #1/#2 guy back. What teams are looking to swap out their # 1 dmen? Vancouver with Edler is the only guy i can think of.
