How realistic are Leaf fans?

I think most Leaf fans know that we can't win 3 straight against Boston. Don Cherry was right about game 4, that if we can't tie this series up at 2-2 we lost the series. IMO, no way the Leafs win 3 straight against any team (Except for maybe Montreal, but I doubt we would be down 3-1 to them)

So how realistic are leaf fans?

We have a chance, but, given how we've played at times, and how lucky Boston has been, we probably have no hope of winning 3 straight games!

Leafs have to win 1 shift, 1 period at a time and see if they can win 1 game at a time. A win on Friday, and, all the pressure will be on the Bruins!

Go Leafs Go!

I think the leafs could win three straight against Ottawa but we would not have been down 3-1.

It'll take near perfect games from the Leafs from now on.

Boston has capitalized on probably more than half of the bad mistakes from Toronto. If they can't eliminate a big chunk of their bad turnovers, they have a chance...

...but it's not likely.

Leafs have been a better team throughout the year away from home though... sooooo...

I voted "Yes!!"

The leafs can win 3 straight games, it's happened against many teams before (including Boston), however they probably won't.

If I was a part of the team the answer would automatically be yes, and I hope all the guys think the same thing. But, as an outsider, I honestly think it would take a miracle.

The thing with playoffs is you never say never. Do I think they will win the next 3 games? No but I do think they could extend it to a Game 6 or 7.

I am realistic, as I was heading into the series. I knew the odds were not in our favor, but at the same time I was happy that we matched up with Boston. Of all of the potential first round matchups, this was the series that would be the most beneficial for the Leafs going forward. Win or lose I feel that the Leafs will have earned respect. Kessel appears to have finally removed the monkey from his back and we now know that both Lupul and JVR are beasts in the playoffs and what they accomplished in years past was not a fluke. It will really help us determine who is a gamer and who is a lamer .

When all is said and done, I don't know what will happen on Friday, but I just want to see the guys compete and go out swinging. It's been a while, but I can safely say I am proud to be a Leaf fan.

until the Leafs lose a 4th game or win a 4th game this series is still very much on

you may want to re-think your intitial question and frame it as to how many quitters/defeatists make it all the way up to the NHL or any other major league professional sport for that matter.

Guys who quit are ferreted out of sports pretty quickly, therefore of course it's possible as no one in that dressing thinks it's impossible and therefore as a realist I voted yes

We can win, if we win game 5 and game 6, theres a geat chance we can win game 7.

Since game 6/7 are back-to-back, we have a better chance of success than the bruins. The bruins were exploited late in the season because they had a compressed schedule, and the leafs play OK on back-to-back games. Also, the bruins are older and easily fatigue when compared to the leafs.

I think if we win game 5, the series will go the max to game 7.

We will win this series. We played better than Boston ever since game 1.

Voted for yes because we CAN.

If the poll said "WILL the leafs win 3 straight games?" I would've voted no

We won game 2
If we didn't make 500 errors in game 3 we would have won game 3.
We brought game 4 to overtime and I feel like had more and better chances in overtime, could have won that.

That is 3 solid games, we could have won 3 in a row already. Isn't impossible to say that we won't actually win 3 in a row this time.

Why Is Everyone so down?

Our boys, with the exception of maybe game 1, have performed very well and have been in every game. Going into the season playoffs were not expected, but we knew we could get there. After that everything is a learning experience and winning some games, or even series is just gravy. Were in a hole now that isn't ideal, down 3-1, but i firmly believe that a desperate team is a scary team. Its cliche to say take 1 game at a time but thats what we need to do. If we can come out like we did in the third period of game 3, Boston, who will be feeling comfortable, will quickly be feeling the pressure in game 6. Our boys and fans will be fired up in game 6 and we wont lose a third game in the acc. That takes us to game 7 and then its anyones game. Don't lose faith guys. Its an uphill battle from here, yes, but this is the stuff movies are made of. Stranger things have happened.

Of course I votes Yes. This series is not over yet, despite what many of negative people around here think. (which at my time of writing this is at least 33)

Can they? Yes. Will they? Probably not. I see us losing in Game 6.

The Leafs are getting beaten right now, at least in part, because James Reimer has been unable to make the momentum saves at the key times. When the Leafs get a goal or two they've given one or two back. And last night's OT goal saw Reimer way back in his net on a two on one. The shot found a small hole under his arm.
