Free hockey is good. I'm glad there's lots of it. I'm comfortable with Chicago ending it in regulation but I'll take all the OT we can get.

Howard was **** on both of Anaheim's goals in regulation.

Hope that the Wings take them to a game 7 and win it... that would be a good matchup for us. Better than the Sharks.

Not at all worried about the Sharks. They havn't been able to handle the Hawks speed in years. The Sharks wont be playing a clueless and disorganized disaster of a team like the Canucks next round. Unless Niemi goes all Mike Smith on us, Hawks in 5.

So, the playoff built, Stanley cup contender Blues, who the Hawks wish they were (according to some folk last off season), are probably going to lose in the 1st round this year after losing in the 2nd round last year.

Why can't Bowman be that good at building a team?

It's not rooting 'for the Blues'. It's rooting for what seems to be best for the Hawks. Rivalries go out the window when your own team is involved.

tbh I'd rather see the Kings and Ducks bang each other for 7 games than have the Kings just cruise by the Sharks at this point.

Doesn't matter. I'd rather have a marginally tougher series than the Blues have a chance to win the Stanley Cup. We went 3-1 vs the Blues and 2-1 vs the Kings. Honestly its shocking the Blues aren't winning this series, they've been all over the Kings.

Sharks went 2-2 vs LA this year (one win was a shootout). Same as the Ducks.

San Jose went 3-2 against the Ducks

Regular season head to head records don't mean a god damn thing.

Everyone seems to be dismissing San Jose. That team has talent.

Not dismissing them. They're a deep and talented team but historically the Hawks and their speed has owned them.

Sharks aren't the same slow team we played before.
If they can beat the Canucks in 4 games, they will be tough to beat.

Who did they add that made them so fast? Raffi Torres?

2009-2010 Chicago was 5-1-2ot wins including playoffs
2010-2011 Sharks were 3-1
2011-2012 Sharks were 2-1-1
2012-2013 Chicago was 3-0

So they handled them fine for two years in a row in between two good years for the Hawks. I wouldn't assume.

We got rid of Murray, Handzus and Clowe - three of our slowest players. Adding Torres, and moving Burns to RW has increased the speed tremendously - putting Braun/Demers/Irwin at a D spot full time, and they're all young and quicker than what was used. The speed of our game pre and post deadline are night and day.

It's the same core that has lost time and time again in the playoffs. I'd rather have the Hawks play Detroit than the Sharks, but as a Chicago fan I wouldn't be concerned about a matchup with either of them.

Have some Choke, the official soft drink of the San Jose Sharks come playoff time.

Handzus barely played for the Sharks. Murray was a plug so I'll give you that but when I think about upgrading team speed, I don't look to do at the 6th defenseman spot.

Agree with this. And the Hawks haven't put the Wild away yet. Everyone seems to be talking like that's a foregone conclusion. Any team can win 3 games in a row.

Teams have trailed 3-1 in a best-of-seven series a total of 229 times and have come back to win the series on 20 occasions or 8.7% of the time.

None of those 20 were an 8 over a 1....its not happening.
