Are the Blues the Chicago Cubs of hockey?

Lot of frustration in St.Louis after being up 2-0 and then losing 3 in a row. It's been almost 50 years of playoff failures and many Blues fans are really frustrated.

I thought the Leafs were the "Chicago Cubs of hockey".

The Cubs actually have rings, albeit 100+ years ago. St. Louis also hasn't had the kind of luck the Cubs have had. So, no. They aren't the Cubs of Hockey.

So have the Blues but that was in their first year or 2 when there were far fewer teams. It's just that the Blues have had a lot of great players even several hall of famers and a zillion coaches but have only been to the conference finals twice in 30 years! Lost both!

If i have to say one nice thing about the Blues, its that over their history they've been a consistently good team. They're usually in the playoffs year in and year out.

Those Cubbies are awful for 9 years, build a great team ready to win the world series....and then fall flat on their faces in a glorious showcase of hilarious disaster, only to be awful for 9 more years again.

No. The Blues aren't the Cubs

Nobody's the Cubs of hockey, not even the Leafs.

We're in a whole 'nother world compared to every other team in any other league. We're like James Buchanan. No matter how bad a president may be.... at least they're not James Buchanan.

Plus, more often than not, the Blues are a good team. The Cubs are, well.... come back to me when the Blues are almost always bad, their fanbase has a bad reputation, and tickets are ridiculously expensive. Maybe we'd have a comparison beyond just having very long championship droughts. Leafs come closest to the futility that is the Cubs, I suppose.

All said as a Cubs fan, just fyi.

Eh, come on now. Our fan base doesn't have a bad rep, in fact, it has a good rep for being one of the most loyal in sports.

Pretty much. I don't ever remember a time the Blues were Cubs awful. It takes a special kind of mismanagement to achieve the level of mediocrity they have.

I get that this is a joke, but the Blues have been in the finals more recently, AND frequently, than the Cubs.

I consider them one of the best teams in the league. Just an unfortunate first round draw. They've outplayed the defending champs for the most part of this series though and I still think this is going 7 regardless of who wins.

Our reputation is that we're a bunch of fat morons that barely follow the game at all, prone to racism, and likely looking for a chance to throw a beer at someone.

No, we don't have a good reputation.

Granted, not saying our rep's like the Sox, i.e. I'm going to punch you in the face, and I certainly wouldn't say it's a reputation that's remotely grounded in reality, but it's still a bad rep.

The Cub fan reputation is (from a Sox fan)...

I dont know anything about baseball and dont really watch the games, but hey, i love the Cubs so come down to Wrigley and we'll get wasted in an area where there just so happens to be baseball being played

They're the face jobbers of hockey. They're the Koko B Ware of hockey.

Ah that's not fair... Nashville is the Koko B Ware of hockey. St Louis is the Tito Santana.

This means Chicago is Randy Savage, Detroit is Ric Flair and the Columbus is... the Red Rooster.
