I think if we win tonight, we have a much better than a 50/50 shot at taking the series. If we win tonight I could see the Pens having a full on meltdown.

It would be a seismic shift in momentum if the boys return home with a chance to oust the Pens. All the pressure is on the Pens and Vokoun.
I like the isles approach: despite the hoopla from the surprised press, the Isles keep stressing that they haven't won anything, that they not only expect to be competitive in this series, but to win. No settling for moral victories.

I thought the refs let a lot of chippy stuff go uncalled, especially in the last game. That's why we saw the scrums at the end of game 4.

Let's go Islanders.

@StapeNewsday: Looks like Eaton, Glass, Bennett on for Pens extra work. Would mean Engelland in for Eaton.

@StapeNewsday: Or Despres for Eaton. Forgot about him.

In case anybody can't watch the game, but wants to listen to it, the game is going to be on 98.7 FM tonight as well as the other Hofstra station.

[QUOTE=wingnutks;65681547] Nabby will have to play alot better, he is going to have to make a couple tough saves to turn a 30 shot 5 goal night into a 30 shot 3 goal night. [QUOTE]

This.

Nabby has not made saves at crucial times in this series and he'll definitely need to tonight. I can't say how many times I've said over the last few games "he should've had that"

Vokoun v. Nabby could be series changers here on out. Does Vokoun play well enough to win? Does Nab return to form, or at least a closer version?

You have to imagine the Pens will come out with fire, playing behind a fresh goalie and a home crowd. Isles must quell the storm and come out unscathed in the first 10 mins.

There is truth in this. I think a quick goal unsettles Vokoun and flattens the crowd (providing we can hold on to it for more than a minute ) and should see us set up well to take the fight to them for the rest of the game while they're on the back foot.

Rooting hard for Nabby right now! GO ISLES!

I hope this doesn't impede your ability to get off work for a home game!

That's a shame. I think the Isles have been able to take advantage of the lack of speed on the Pens' blueline.

Other than game one, I think this is going to be the Isles hardest game to win by far.

100% agree. The crowd will bring the noise and the Pens will feed off of it.

If the Pens score first, you guys might be in for a long night but if you guys draw first blood then things could get ugly and quick

Good luck tonight. No matter what the score is I'm calling a physical game both ways

I don't know how your brother is but My little brother and his friends are nuts..He goes to Philly,WSH,and PIT for games flying the Isles colors...
They'll be ok. I'm more concerned about his friend than him, but as their both not drinking tonight because they're driving straight back after the game, I think they'll be fine. They'll be sporting jerseys for sure, but they won't be disrespectful.

We will win tonite. Expecting a good game, but a big win for us. We won both the games I stayed home to watch and lost the two that I wasn't home for. Actually we've only scored goals when I'm home. The first game I was out that night, and not home for any part of the game. The OT loss the other day I had to leave my house once the 3rd period was over and OT was starting. The 2nd and 4th games I was home all night watching us win both, just like I will be home all night watching us win again tonite.

Lets go Islanders!!!!!

Damn, I have an event after work from 7-10. Which means I won't be watching this game until about 1:30-2 EST. This is going to be brutal.

keys to this game:
- get to Vokoun early and often
- stay OUT OF THE BOX
- Keep hitting the pens. Isles have dominated the physical aspect of this series
- Nabby needs a superhuman game....i hope he was watching the western conference games last night and get inspired. TIMELY SAVES!!!
