Hamilton vs. Syracuse

A minute left in the third, Hamilton down 3-1... Perezhogin blasts a backhand shot past the goalie and makes it 3-2. His second point of the night (the other an assist on a Svitov goal)....

assists Svitov, Balej

Game over... but the point of this thread was moreso to celebrate Perezhogin's effort anyway.

Hamilton should have won... they outshot the Crunch 41-30.

Beachy also had an assist on the first goal.

Perehogin really improved his play lately or at least it seems when you look at stats. I was always high on Perezhogin and very happy that he is finally racking up points. When is Hamilton next game? Sunday game on TV? Eager to see the kids play, even thought it looks like they have a hard time against Toronto .

I know this is not really the point of this thread, but I'd like to point out Alex Svitov's improvement in the past few weeks. Boy, has he become a dominant player for the Hamilton Bulldogs all of a sudden. To be honest with myself, after he got picked 3rd overall in 2001 by Tampa, I always showed some apprehension (sp?) towards his offensive game, and his first pro season wasn't awe-inspiring. However, after watching him a couple of times playing for the Dogs, I can say I changed my mind on him. He's got a good mix of speed, skill, size, strenght and agility.

He is the kind of powerforward we deeply miss. He's able to use that long reach he possesses in 1-on-1 battles and can be physically intimidating, both in front of the net and in the corners. It's very, very rare you'll hear me talking about the possibilty of trading for an unproven player that is still at a young stage of his career, but this time, I speak for myself as a Habs fan when I say: "Bob, go and get him." Svitov really is something, IMO.
