I thought it was last year and this year, because we got two second rounders. But then I think we dealt this years to the habs or someone at the deadline last year. I think for andrei kostitsyn (ugh!)

From Wiki - The Nashville Predators' second-round pick will go to the Montreal Canadiens as the result of a trade on February 27, 2012 that sent Andrei Kostitsyn to Nashville in exchange for the cancellation of a previously arranged conditional fifth-round pick (in a 2012 trade of Hal Gill to Nashville from Montreal) in 2013 and this pick.[17]

Tampa Bay Lightning traded Sebastien Caron, two 2012 second-round draft picks and a 2013 third-round draft pick to the Nashville Predators for Anders Lindback, Kyle Wilson and a 2012 seventh-round draft pick.
we got two seconds and a third for Lindy but both seconds were last year

so our 3rd this yerar is Tampas not ours. We swapped 3rds and 5ths with the NYR last year.. they got our third this year and we got their third last year(used on Leipsic so probably a shrewd deal by poile). we got their 5th this year and they got our 5th last year.

Radulov-Forsberg-Fiddler
Tootoo-Nichol-Hordichuck/Smithson

The only reason Fiddler was playing with Forsberg was Sullivan injured his back otherwise Sully would have been on Arnott's line and Hartnell on Forsberg's line. There really wasn't a better option than Fiddler.
The sad part is we didn't go out and get Forsberg to play him with Fiddler. You figure out a way to play him with our best talent we had and if it meant shifting a few guys around we should've done that. The guy was a beast in the playoffs and still had some left in the tank. I would've almost rather had him on the line with Arnott and Dumont and let it ride. Move Fiddler to the middle with Rads and Hartnell. There were other ways to utilize him and it was an epic fail IMNSHO.

Yeah it didn't really matter what line you put Fiddler on he would have stuck out like a sore thumb and you didn't want to split up Rads and Forsberg because they had a good connection. From what I remember the Rads-Foppa-Fiddler line actually produced well during that series. It was the Legwand line which had been so good during the reg season that **** the bed and as Goc said our biggest issue was size versus the sharks. They knocked us off the puck constantly and we couldn't knock them off the puck.

I though Foppa was utilized fine here personally. We rolled 3 scoring lines once we got him, he got PP time and he produced at about a point per game while playing on one foot.

1 first
1 third
3 fourths
2 fifths
2 sixths
1 seventh

So this is the official list after everything is said and done for our picks correct?!?!

The only thing that can change is one of the fourth round picks and that's just depending where Toronto finished in playoffs, but it's still going to be a fourth.

Depending on what trades transpire before the draft.

Thank you I skipped over the 99th pick apparently I made a mistake don't tell my wife

I like that we have 3 fourths, poile is gold in the fourth round!!

Lets nail barkov early, then restock the defense cupboard in the fourth!

What would it cost us to pick up a second round pick?

unless Poile has decided that SK is a lockerroom cancer and must be dumped regardless of his return I think SK will be back next year.

I suspect the return for him would not be worth trading him... better to keep him and see if he will be more motivated when hes playing for a contract.

I personally think sk is a waste of a roster spot. Especially is smith is on the roster next season.

1. Legwand
2. Fisher
3. Hornqvist
4. Wilson
5. Gaustad
6. Spaling
7. Bourque
8. Clune
9. Halischuk
10. Beck
11. Yip
12. Smith

That's also assuming forsberg and barkov don't start on the preds which is unlikely both don't, and that's also assuming butler isn't back.

Plus we still haven't replaced erat yet with that kostitsyn-less roster.

Something has to give.

Remembering how disappointed I was when ellis was picked, I have to ask how disappointed would fans be if:
1. Barkov was gone but drouin was available
2. Poile picked nichuskin over Barkov
3. Poile picked lindholm over Barkov
4. Poile goes off the board

For me it would be 1. Still thrilled 2. Deeply concerned but slightly hopeful and 3. Stunned, disappointed and highly skeptical. 4. Check back in four years when I calm down.

The Lindholm Barkov debate on this site seems further away than on other sites I have read.

I wouldn't be shocked if they ended up be pretty comparable NHL players, and either would be an upgrade over anyone we've picked in the past or has more potential anyway.

Since most mocks have us choosing Barkov I haven't really been paying as much attention to Drouin in case he slips. He's supposed to be more of a sniper?

I keep seeing Pat Kane as his comparable.

It's so hard to tell from Youtube highlights so I have no idea. Youtube can make Smithson look like a sniper.

Having to choose between a Joe Thornton like player or a Pat Kane like player is a great problem to have. I don't care as long as we get one of the top 4. I just hope we don't do anything stupid, like draft the Khl'er or go off the board this high.

Well put sir, well put indeed.

I'm just so happy we aren't picking fifth or later. Then barks, drouin and Mack are all gone. We have to chose between guys like Lindholm, monahan or mr.khl lol.

Drouin is 100% pass first. MacKinnon is his sniper.

Sorry for the double post, but was wondering what the general opinion around here would be if Poile picks Monahan with Lindholm and Barkov still on the board.

Assuming:
COL - Jones
FLA - MacKinnon
TB - Drouin

Barkov is the popular pick here. If we pass on both Barkov and Lindholm, I project riots.
