"With the 88th pick in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft, The Montreal Canadiens are excited to select from Green Bay of the USHL, Gustaf Olofsson."

"Olofsson is a Swedish Born defenseman who came over a couple years back to learn the North American game and is scheduled to play for Colorado College where we hope he fills out his 6'2" frame. Although he has a nice frame, Olofsson does not go out of his way to be physical but does use his body to separate players from the puck. He uses his reach exceptionally well and is always calm with the puck. We believe he has all the tools to be a two-way defender at the NHL level and his size/reach will help fend off forecheckers.

Next GM will be PMed.

As per PM from Anaheim, who likely isn't happy:

Spenser Jensen from Medicine Hat.

Will PM next GM.

You missed the Q boat already!

Part of the burden you must bear being the Habs GM is that everyone second-guesses you all the time...so let me be the first!

You Took ---------I woulda took

1-Burakowsky---Morin
2-Nastasiuk-----De la Rose
3-Dickinson------Dauphin
4-Hayden--------Laplante
5-Jarry------------Desrosiers
6-Olofsson-------Olofsson - nice pick!

Wait 'til Timmins goes to the podium with my picks. I wanted LaPlante, he just went earlier than I thought. Don't like De La Rose's offensive upside. Morin would be nice but I still think we need elite skill. Not a big Dauphin fan. Desroisiers had a nice U-18 but there are parts of his game that make me think he wouldn't be able to handle the burden of the Canadiens goaltending position.

Still, Morin/LaPlante/Desroisiers/Olofsson wouldn't be a bad haul of 4 out of 6 picks.

If the Habs draft looks like your draft.....it will be a huge success. There are maybe a couple of variances here but honestly....as a whole....it looks awfully good. Congrats.

Going back to your Dickinson pick, I think that all of every possible known 1st rounders....Dickinson, for me, might the most unsexy pick of them all.....but maybe one of the most rewarding picks of them all also.

I could be quite high on him as I often see some flashes of Jordan Staal. I think that his defensive work improved quite a whole lot. But I would agree with the reports that says 2 things: Consistency and not exactly thriving on the physical department. And while I keep repeating that you can work on the consistency issues...the physical thing might be something else though. But I have confidence that he'll work it out. So again...unsexier of any other picks....but could potentially be a big steal.

Agree with you on the Bura pick vs. Morin. Doesn't have the upside to be worth reaching for in the first, imo. But a few picks down the line with one of our seconds? Sure.

He might not ever be a mean customer.. but as long as he continues to protect the puck, I think he can translate into being a succesful big body up front who can play on the top two lines or even on a two-way 3rd line. Dickinson was the pick I went back and forth on a lot, so I don't mind a lot of variances there. Getting Jarry and Hayden were my two favorite parts of the draft, especially where I got them.

Our lists are pretty close and it's a good draft but I have to say about Jarry, he's played so few games for such a good team is it really possible to get an accurate read on him?

Also with Hayden and Dickinson it might be a case of bigger bodies winning out over guys who are slightly smaller, Dauphin and Laplante, but have higher upside?

Really like your draft from a Habs fan standpoint. Only change I would have made is Bowey instead of Dickinson. The rest are great though. Jarry is an awesome pick. He would have lots of time to develop.

Goaltending is one of the positions where even if you watch him play, you can see whether or not their fundamentals are good, if they have the technical side. I think that he has good focus and mental attributes if he is not seeing a lot of action but coming in and still posting shut-outs. Played mostly back-up games but he has played Kamloops where he was outstanding. The biggest questions will be: How does he do when he is in pressure games? And.. can he handle a starters workload?
I like what I've read about his attitude, work ethic and willingness to learn.

LaPlante went earlier than expected, that's all. Hayden plays a power forward game with a pro body already, I think he can be a gamer, it's up to him if he can develop a scorers touch more, that being said, I think where I got him, he's for sure gonna be an NHLer. Dickinson actually grew quite a bit, a growth spurt, and if he catches up to that development, with his offensive tools, he could be a steal. I have a lot of questions about Dauphin and when I saw him, they were never answered, which made me weary to pick him.

I'm very disappointed in Whitesnake and the fact that he actually needs a "list"
