There have been a LOT of great upsets in NHL history. Not sure where this would rank but it certainly wouldn't be the biggest
Hawks over Leafs in 1938, too. The Hawks were 14-25-9 that year.

Yeah I know I'm missing a few involving the Leafs and Hawks actually, but the list was not meant to be exhaustive. Plenty of crazy upsets between 30 and 71 that I've omitted I'm sure.

Heck, Kings over Canucks last year was pretty nuts too. There's basically a giant 8 over 1 or 7 over 2 level upset like every season

Hmm looking at their roster they did have Larionov and Whitney, 2 guys that were no doubt underrated at the time. I still think overall that team did something amazing beating Detroit.
That sharks team gets a bad rap... People forget how injurys effected them early on.. The second half or thrid of the season whatever it was they were the third best team in the league that year record wise.

lol, this thread is the nightmare of the collective Pens haters in here. fun thing is a lot of the haters in this thread are Bruins, Caps and Rangers fans, who's teams are playing today with the Damocles' sword over their head.
