That is true. He did produce, at the same time I thought a lot of his goals were nothing spectacular. To me he almost looked like the luckiest player in the world, the way he would just walk into a well setup play and finish it. Maybe he just reads the play very well and has good offensive instincts. But he is really lazy. Even when he was scoring he was lazy.

Along with Subban, Chukie, Gally, Eller... this team has a future, big time.

My only thing is, don't brink back Ryder, and go after a Clarkson type player.
Therrien great? He was putrid.

All you had to do is look at our PP and the Sens PP.

On the rare occasion we had a body in front of Anderson, the Sens D were cross-checking and shoving them out of the way.

When the Sens were on the PP, they had a player camped in front of our goalie for the full 2 minutes without a Montreal D man even paying any attention to them.

And that is only one criticism of Therrien's coaching collapse after 40 games that carried over into the playoffs.

Great dresser though. Looked a lot sharper than Carbo and Martin. Give him credit for that.

I want AK back. You know a physical guy that has a shot. These are the kind of players we are missing.

LOL worst post of the day. Many of these guys are already signed so we can't just get "rid of them", and Markov, Diaz, Dumont and even Halpern was dead weight?? Lololol

I agree, but for a team that doesn't finish worth a ****....losing Ryder will hurt, that's all I'm saying.

Gryba and the refs won the series for the Refnators. The only good thing about this season is that MB knows exactly what the team needs. Hopefully we can get a bigger, meaner group next season.
I know I might be wrong but I am just frustrated.

Not that I know that but I stand by my comment about picking a goalie NOT in the 1st round. Go Jarry Go!

Embrace it. It's a lot more fun to win when you're hated.
Problem is...we don't win. Not when it counts.

Year 20.

But as with every year of those 20, we have the promise of a bright future and doing better in two years.

Please, Therrien managed Galchenyuk, Gallagher and Subban masterfully, all that while stopping that stupid Martin habit of holding on to a lead in the third with defensive play. Don't let the last 10 games fool you....

Great season! Things fell apart down the stretch, though. I felt they played great in this series, but that untimely goals against, injuries, and some questionable calls at inopportune times just did us in. And, yeah, they mailed it in in the 3rd of this game, but they were clearly spent; when you're not rewarded for your efforts at some point it just becomes demoralizing. One of the more forgettable series, I think, we've had.

Still, bottom line is that we didn't get it done, really wasn't that competitive (we did, after all, lose the series 4-1). Why? Goaltending is obviously an issue. Anderson was good, but I wouldn't go so far as to say he was great. As everyone keeps saying, we need bigger bodies and grittier play. Beyond that, management needs to identify the players that just don't bring it when they should and make the necessary changes.

I hope this year wasn't an aberration. I've seen this before where everyone feels like this is something we can build off of for next year only to see the wheels fall off the bus when next year comes.

But hope spring eternal, I guess...

I agree. The 48 game season made us look better than we we are. As you saw, we were wearing out at the end of the season and carried through the playoffs. IMO, we are only better than last year because we have the two rooks.

The Habs really need to get harder to play against. They need more in your face type of players. The perimeter game they keep playing every year is getting old very fast from this team and as proven unsuccessful.

He's a pure sniper, they are almost always like this. Cammalleri was the same.
