Because he is a big top 2 lines winger that is consistently over 20 goals/season and still hits like a tank in the games he's not scoring. Would sign him over Ryder

The hate I don't get either, but talk about him is always the level of talk and discussion you'd normally have around a proven 1st liner. He isn't. It's not his fault. He's just a decent middle of the pack winger as could be seen in the KHL also this season.

All true when he shows up to play which is less than 50 percent of the time... So the correct answer is... Sign neither!

I'm so pissed off right now. We didn't lose against Pittsburgh, nor vs Washington or Boston. It's vs Ottawa, the 7th seed. Their best forward is who ??? Alfredsson, Pageau, Michalek ??? Beside Karlsson (who didn't have a good series), who's else great at D ?
Damn, and we lost against them, not in 7 game, nor in 6 games. And they blew out us 2 times, 6-1 each.

I'm so ashamed.

This is interesting...

Habs outscored the Sens:

1st period: 2-1
2nd period: 7-2

3rd period...Sens outscored the Habs there, 12-0

The Sens are a much better team than you picture them. That's all I wanted to say.

The 3rd period goal 'stat' is misleading, it's not even funny.

The Habs gave up tonight and that resulted in, what, 3 goals? The blowout on Sunday was 4 goals. 2 goals gifted by the refs on Tuesday.

That's 3-0 in the 3rd. Not so bad when it's 7-2 in the second for the Habs.

they need a reliable goalie, not price or budaj, and they need to get some bigger players in the mix who can score.

No Eller.
No Gionta.
No Price.
No Prust.
No Emelin.

Couple that with mostly one-sided reffing, and it's no surprise to see the results we saw.

I also suspect that Price has been playing with a groin injury the whole season which would explain why he never seemed sharp in nets.

In the off-season, I'd like for the team to acquire guys like Laich who are physically big and gritty. I've had enough of Desharnais who played like a child the whole series long. No fire or passion whatsoever and a measly point in 5 games for who is essentially supposed to be our #1 centerman. He should be ashamed of himself.

Just for kicks, I was watching highlights of the 2010 Playoffs and the Habs looked like a MUCH faster team back then. One-time passes and the whole lot. This year, there was no adrenaline or sense of urgency. In fact, I couldn't even see the difference between a regular season or Playoffs game.

Hopefully, the players get better physically and add bulk. I'd love to see Gionta gone as having torn biceps in back-to-back years either mean that he'll likely be extremely fragile from this point onwards or his career is finished. With that 5$ million, the team could likely get a good top-6 forward or a 2nd-pairing D-man.

I'd give Price another year to show some moxie and if he plays next season like he has played this one, I'd trade him. His only job is to stop pucks and he's done an absolutely lousy job of doing this, this year. At his salary, that's no excuse.

Even if you discount the two blowouts, the inability to close out has been the story of the series. Not getting a single 3rd period goal is a good way to keep away momentum.

Therrien should have given them the Glengarry Glen Ross speech...always be closing.

I am positive Price has had a groin injury all season, from that fan practice at training camp where he looked to hurt himself on a Pacioretty shootout attempt.

Let's go step by step with goaltender personnel because rushing decision is a bad habit. We won't become cup contender overnight it takes time.

Price still has time to prove himself next year altough he will still have to deliver and not get a free pass.

IMO defense is more of a problem and size obviously as you pointed out.

Methot and Cowen had fun all series battling against the like of Desharnais, Gionta, Gallagher. I would 100% take either of them on my team.

I can't believe some still have this stupid idea in their head. Never heard Ryder did it, never heard AK did it. Seriously, use your common sense sometime, is it really that hard? You don't like them fine but please don't make anything coming out of the media into a soap opera.

Eating at a restaurant and coming back 30 min past curfew does not mean partying but I guess you believe what you want to believe, does not make it reality.
