Keep sharp. Trade kane aNd toews because there not quite a ppg right now. Move pirri to 1c problem solved

Kane is greater than PPG though? I'm confused.

Sad to see how through Sharp is. Should have traded him for Burrows when we had the chance.

All joking aside, I was super tough on Sharp this year. He was struggling big time for what ever reason.

The goals in the last few games have given him so much confidence. His stick handling and passing is so much better. Him being more confident will help the PP as well.

/\ Actually, Sharp wasn’t struggling. The injuries aside, his stats were skewed - the puck just wasn’t going in for him. He was hitting a lot of goal posts and crossbars, but he was still getting his chances. His goal production was down but still he racked up quite a few assists. Sharp’s defensive game is vastly underrated by many here. He’s no Toews, but he still contributes in many areas other than sniping.

I do agree however that his confidence seems better. A few goals will do that, and ass usual, he is playing his best hockey now that the PO’s are here!

Completely agree. Sharp's "horrible" play this season has been completely overblown. A few of those posts/crossbars go in early in the season and nobody says a peep. He has been skating well all season and has looked consistently dangerous.

I was pretty hard on him, but not for the offense. He was giving the puck away constantly in his own end/at the opp blue line all year, which has gone away now.

I wasn't even that upset about his missed goals. His stick handling and passing were terrible. He literally couldn't skate 5 feet with the puck without losing it and that's with zero pressure on him.

Let's see, we have tackled the 4th line scoring, and Sharp scoring with some nice reverse-jinx threads. Is it time to open a "Toews / Hossa" thread?

He always does this. He will score 2 in ten games then score 5 in two. Over an eighty game season he'd finish around 35.

His timing was off to begin the season, as was the case with many players around the league. He was getting chances but the puck just wasn't going in. Then, the season was barely a month old when he injured his shoulder which set him back further. I reckon he has not been in true game shape for more than a handful of games this season, and he still isn't after only being back for a few games. I hope he keeps up this pace but I wouldn't count on it.

You mean scoring at a goal per game pace isn't sustainable?

I'm going to have to start a Patrick Sharp for the Conn Smythe trophy by next week.

Wonder if the 14 people who voted he wouldn't return to form wish they could change their vote?

Not just PPG in the playoffs this year, GPG.

I did not vote but a 5 game sample from an historically streaky player does not portend anything. Nice to have the 5 goals for sure, but...

But what???? Sharp is streaky for sure, but he also is known for raising his game in key situations and tends to score goals when the team needs it the most. So far, these PO’s are no exception but he has not played a lot of hockey lately. Five goals is quite remarkable considering. I expect his timing to get better with each game, and it could turn out to be a very special PO run for him. Go Sharpy!
