Found a great freebie: 4 issues of THN for free.

http://forums.redflagdeals.com/4-fre...-news-1336279/

You can choose back issues, so i was able to get the 2013 draft preview for free. Zinio was a bit of a hassle. Was very smooth download on the ipad tho. Good for those who didn't buy a copy already.

London Knights and their plethora of potential 1st round picks (Domi, Horvat, and Zadorov) are on Friday night hockey on sportsnet tomorrow night in a do or die game 5.

Not sure any of those guys is there at 25th overall, but should be a good matchup regardless.

No later than 25th now. Likely more will bow out before final 4.

From Gillis' presser I got that he's high on Gaunce and Laine, but maybe not so high on Roy, Raymond and even Schroeder ("to be evaluated").

It follows he means to repeat his previous 2 drafts with the emphasis on size.

Probably no need to discuss players like Petan, Lehkonen, etc.

Hoping for some draft day moves so we can land more top 60 pics.

I wished some cheeky reporter asked MG what portion of ticket price increases goes directly into scouting.

Wish we had a shot at Zadorov. That guy is a monster truck.

Not happy if we're placing more draft emphasis on size than skill.

Physicality is the one aspect we dominated the Sharks in, and look how well that served us.

We need people who can generate offense. And players that do that are always more valuable around the league as well.

The most successful teams in the league have a top six full of skill and a bottom six full of size - that also have some skill as well. That's the key.

Easier said than done to assemble a team like that, but this team needs more Chris Neils and less Dale Weises in its bottom six.

Also I get the sense that there is no way in hell that Lazar will even make it past 15 anymore.

kid looks like a bloody man at 17. Ekblad... man I wish we could draft him...

Or McDavid. Any one of the two would instantly replenish our pool...

I don't understand why people are saying we get no higher than 25th. Correct me if I'm wrong but with 14 teams not making the playoffs, us bowing out in the first round and 7 other teams not making the second round. Wouldn't that put us between 15th and 22nd pick? Now I understand it would then be how we placed in the regular season and since we did pretty well and won our division we would probably have around 21st pick. Is that not right?

No thats not right, and for the 250th time in the last few pages of this thread, there are rules in place that place division winners higher, even if they get knocked out in the 1st round.

MTL and Van were knocked out, and since MTL had a better record as a division winner, they get the lowest pick of the division winners (26th overall) and we get 25th.

Record doesn't matter if you win the division. Canucks will be picking 25th. The only way that changes is if Anaheim and Pittsburgh somehow lose their series' that they are both currently up 3-2 in. I don't see that happening. IF it did, we'd move up to 23rd.

If any of Anaheim, Chicago, or Pittsburgh lose in the 2nd round we'd move up as well.

Yeah thanks.

I think at least one of those teams goes out next round too.

Ottawa will be a tough out for Pitt, and Anaheim will have a really hard time with LA or St Louis.

Chicago should handle San Jose quite easily like they have for the last 5 years.

They should make a rule where a team is able to forfeit all of their draft picks for the current year and the year after when a player is eligible so they can draft him while underage. And you can only do it once per decade.

So it would be something like this:

Canucks forfeit 2013 1st-7th rounders, 2014 1st-7th rounders to draft Aaron Ekblad in the 24th spot. Or maybe your 1st rounders for five years or something like that.

I know no team would likely do this for Ekblad, but you can bet they would do it for McDavid.

Horvat looks very good tonight.

Scheifele has done very little against him and Bo is creating a lot offensively.

Size matters if the player has heart and grit. The leading scorer was a midget St.Louis what he has is heart and gives `1'-0'-0 percent

St.Louis is an exception. His legs are bigger than what most 6'1 players have.

Has nothing to do with his legs.

Marty St. Louis is where he is because of dedication, heart, talent, and a high competitive spirit.

It's all about being willing to battle. Not everyone has that. Lots of big guys don't.

He's also built very solid for someone his size, but yeah, without those elements you mention he wouldn't be anywhere near where he is at.

Taylor Pyatt is skilled and is 6'4" 225lbs.

Size does not matter if you don't have the mentality.

Size helps, but look at #12 hanging in our rafters. Small in stature, gigantic on heart.

Maybe MG can trade Roy's pre July 5th negotiating rights for a late round pick?
