Ruff went to the finals and hasn't been back. He did get to the conference finals a couple of times since then.

I'm looking all over the internet and can't find one. I hope they put it up soon.

Josh Kroenke on the Fan with Scott Hastings said there are differing opinions on what type of coach they want to hire.

Well if they certain to get a coach before draft, we can forget Tippett because if he becomes available it won't be that soon.

It's going to be Roy and we all know it. Then we can all circle up and handy each other for years and years to come.

This is probably a good thing. Healthy debate signals that they might not just be looking at internal options.

The culture change everybody wanted? While still promoting from within?

Not that the news doesn't sound good, but *******, if they end up hiring the LE coach for head coach, this is all just business as usual for the Avs.

We all wanted a complete turnaround for the franchise. This is not exactly that.

No, it won't be Roy. Avs won't hire a coach out of juniors according to Sakic.

Can't say I'm disappointed by that news.

In the same way that watching beheading videos is exciting, I suppose.

I was listening at that point of the PC and I don't recall him saying exactly that. I remember him saying something to the extent that they want a passionate experienced coach, a guy that knows hockey.

It was during an interview after the PC

I rather have Roy than another AHL coach.

While it's not likely that Phoenix lets it happen, it's not unheard of for teams to let another team talk to people while under contracts. It's happened plenty of times for coaching/GM hires.

It usually only happens if the current team has no plans for or knows that there is a strong possibility of that person not continuing with the franchise. Or if it's something of a career promotion.

Again I am not saying it's 'likely', just that it's possible.

By experienced I hope they mean NHL experience. Because Chynoweth and Roy both have coaching experience but not in NHL.

I don't know if I want either, but if its between the two I'd rather have Roy.

Hopefully Sakic removes that shrine to himself out of the lockerroom.
