The saddest part is, you can;t complain about Boyle being out there every other shift. He's been one of our top 6 forwards this game easily. And this is a guy that came off of an injury half way through the series.
You know, I don't buy that for a second. They were stepping up in the neutral zone and pinching early on — where did it go? If it's working, Tortorella isn't going to say "oh, sit back and collapse".
What I see are a bunch of players who can't be bothered to make that extra stride or take that extra hit to control the puck. The let the Caps handle it, and when the puck is loose, the Caps win every puck battle. Are we going to blame the constant loss of puck battles on Tortorella, too?
