It would make for a hell of a lot of hockey for him this year. 8 games last year to, like, 100+ this year.

Pacioretty was apparently playing with a separated shoulder, don't think that's going to happen.

A few games at the WC's should be a great experience for him, it's not like he should be tired since MT didn't play him at much.

As oppose to team Russia where Alex pp time would be given to Grigorenko.

A lot of potential habs might do this. Hope to see Galchenyuk on USA.

Really? He has played almost 100 (if not more) games this year between the OHL, WJHC and the habs.

Think he should sit this one out.

Canada called up Hamhuis, don't think there's room for Subban

Would love to see Gallagher on the team though, think it's possible he gets called too

True, but playing for your country on a stacked team? Why not?

If galchy gets a call, hope he plays with Kristo... See if we can start the chemistry in the offseason before next year!

Swiss coach Sean Simpson didn't want to say anything official but insiders expect that he already did call Raphael Diaz.

So hopefully Subban and Gallagher get to play for Team Canada. Price with the injured groin won't go, and Pacioretty has a separated shoulder, so I doubt he goes too.

Count me in with hoping Galchenyuk gets a call from U.S. team. I expect Plekanec to play for Czechs again, Diaz with Swiss and maybe Markov for Russia.

The Czech hockey federation website confirmed that Plekanec is joining the team on Monday.

@zedmat:
Plekanec have a green light from the Canadiens to go to the World Champ and it looks like he will leave for Stockholm on Sunday to play!

Maybe they're hoping he can continue to raise his trade value before the deadline

All seriousness, I hope we don't trade Pleks before DD

Wasn't it reported that Plek had a groin injury during the playoffs? Did he heal today?

How would there be no room for a Norris candidate, a guy that has the speed necessary to play on that kind of ice? Would make no sense to not call him unless the anti-Subban are out in full force in that dressing room....

I read that there could be 25 players on the roster. Canada is at 23 with Hamhuis.

I'm just saying, if I manage team Canada and I'M trying to win gold medal, I pick Subban over Hamhuis easily..

I think Hamhuis himself is an upgrade over every player currently on D for Canada (with maybe the exception of Brian Campbell).
