Girgensons is disqualified, so this means our 2nd line is royally ****ed and someone will have to play out of position again, which didn't end very well in the first games.

We just don't have another decent C in this lineup.

You mean Andris "I can't hold on to a puck for more than 2 seconds" Džeriņš?

LOL. Sprukts is a 110kg beast with great stick handling skills.

In any case, at least he can throw some bodies around and not lose the puck straight after entering the attacking zone.

Plus Sprukts has tendency to draw countless PP opportunities for us. When Dzerins is diving we get nothing.

Lack of Girgensons really slims our chances, but I think our guys can pull it off.

well so far all sports results today have been awful, so I think Germany is due for one Seriously, with France and Latvia winning matches they're not supposed to, we can't really afford to lose this game.

Zepp for Germany definitely lost a minimum of one point in game against Slovakia.

Zepp is #1 because the other options we have right now aren't better. Greiss still has to back up Niemi and Reimer is injured

Extremely tight PK box for the Germans.....trust they can get all shots coming in from the Latvian's.

killing the 5 on 3 was key and drawing a penalty was even better.

Eh Latvia's not looking too energetic and confident as they were against SVK.

yes it can, but I think effort is not the problem with Germany. The lack of talent is the problem. A guy like Greilinger is not good enough outside of Germany. Goc is more of a worker than skill player as is almost every player in the roster.

It's either a grinder, hard working guy or skill guy with not enough skill for that kind of competition. We can't keep up with skill and talent and have to hope that we can outwork the opponents.

If both teams are very close into the third period that "outworking the opponents" can make the other tired team lose focus when things starts to get nervous. Germans teams always seem to be able to "run the sun black" as we say here in DK.

Latvia looks disorganized. The PPs were ridiculous, the 5on3 was absolutely abysmal. In a game like this powerplays are crucial and we've wasted our chances completely. Not a good 1st period.

They not only look like, they are. Great finish by Ullmann though. And nice pass by Gogulla.

Looks like we'll have to get 3 points against France to stay up. Very few scoring chances for us and wasted PPs. :/
