I would like to see progression because I don't think one day at 27 he will just take his game to another level and stay at that level for the rest of his career. I think we'll see a progression to "greatness"....if he does get there.

I don't give him at least another 2 years before really thinking about a new goalie. We should draft a goalie or acquire one as we have nohting in the system.
I will agree that his development may have been hurt by him being in the NHL too early. That being said, he is still young, and I think he can improve. You know what must be stunting his growth? The INSANE amount of pressure. Laugh all you want, it's a serious, serious obstacle when many want Patrick Roy... or Jonathan Quick out there.

My main issue with people throwing Price under the bus? I don't see a better option out there. Not by a long shot.

Should the Habs draft more goaltenders? Sure. Is there another goaltender out there the Habs could immediately get who would be as good as Price and play as many games? I don't think so.

At this rate, all people here and the media are doing are chipping away at Price (there's no way he isn't aware of the general negative 'pulse') while there is no viable alternative, meaning that the only thing happening is the slope getting increasingly steeper for a goaltender with no real tangible benefit to come out of it.

No one is throwing Price under the bus. He just needs to be better, that's all. The whole "young" thing doesn't wash with me because his contract was not based on him being "young".

I don't think the alternatives have anything to do with criticizing his play. He needs to play better as do many other players on the team.

They need more finish... They have no one that can actually pot a freaking goal on this team... Tarasenko might be this one day... They have 4 lines of 2-way grinders now... Doesn't work.

They have so much young talent that they should look at what the Kings done and move it for proven young veterans (Richards, Carter, Penner) to put them over the top.

The Habs definitely looked good/great in some nice stretches vs. Ottawa.

Some periods they came out flying...

They just couldn't sustain it for a multiple of reasons.

They need a #1 goalie, not a guy with inflated stats playing in Hitchcock's system.

Despite his age, he's played a lot of hockey and I think he should be better. After 5 years, has he really gotten better? If so, his improvement has been minimal....which is scary.

I still believe in him though.
Technically, he's gotten worse. He used to be a much better goalie technically. Allaire and Roy showed his flaws on AC not too long ago.

No. They faced a REAL elite goalie. And need some offense. See, it's not about getting BIGGER. It's about getting the right mix. St.Louis needs more talent. To each their own. WE need to get bigger. Obviously, talent would be ideal too.....but you fill the mix based on what you already have.

Habs have accomdated him way too much. I'm not the first one who says this, and I don't have a lot of insides, and actually the "insides" that I have, while it's coming from a trusted source, I can't verify it. But Pierre Groulx exists and is loved by Price 'cause he doesn't challenge him much. The exacty word of my "source" is that Groulx is actually Price "puppet". Surely way too harsh.....and not exactly how it really is.....but that's the word out there.

As a goalie coach, you don't totally change the way your goalie plays. You drafted him 'cause you'd like what you see, you like the base that way there and want to improve it. But you don't change it. But there's a difference between changing it and just not put some pressure to correct the evident mistakes. It is PURELY impossible that Price's flaws, that EVERYBODY in the goalie circle knows, cannot be worked on. So he either ignores it....is dumb or just doesn't have the talent needed to work on it....People can choose what they want. I obviously have no idea.

Let's all be honest here. Quick is the best goalie in the league and it's not even close. Especially when it comes to the play-offs.

Though I read somewhere, in this board actually, that we shouldn't be too hard on Price as Quick is ALSO having a bad season. People still don't get that a goalie's name is mostly remembered based on playoffs.

One would think you've been around here long enough to know that most people talk through their anus around here and act like it smells like roses.

The disrespect Subban gets is baffling. You would think a two way, physical Canadian wouldn't be so irrationally hated. Honestly, I do question if race plays a part in how people perceive him.

Also, the Karlsson-Lidstrom comparison is laughable. Lidstrom NEVER sacrificed his defensive game for the sake of putting up points like Karlsson does.

No. Good teams have a balance, plus they played the champs.

We would have lost 4 straight to either of these teams. We would have had players faking injuries to get out of these games.

Price was great during some stretches in the regular season and had 1 good game in the playoffs. To some, that's enough to warrant an "elite" title.

Karlsson is a beast, but he is highly overrated and PK is highly underrated. PK will deal with unfair criticism for the rest of his career. Why? He's a Hab...and because he's....well..

Subban is just a PP specialist.
