So what you're saying is that Subban would be their #1 D

Would be great if Kristo and Galchenyuk play on the same line. Any chances that happens?

Hell of a hockey year for Galchenyuk. Any chance he plays C with Kristo on his wing, or will he be used as a winger?

Should be very good experience for him though. I'd love to see him rest and recuperate but these type of games and tournaments can be huge for a prospect's development. Keep in mind he's played less hockey per game this year than likely any year before. Combine that with the condensed schedule, meaning fewer practises, I think he should be okay.

Galchenyuk should sit out of playing with team USA? Whatever. He's in game shape and it's only a few games where the level of play will be lower than the SC playoffs. No sweat.

Should have he sat out if the Habs made it to the second round?

Unless it's due to roster limits, that's ridiculous. How do you not invite a Norris candidate? Poor PK, I bet people will say that its because hes a bad teammate or some other pile of crap haters tell themselves.

@jacktodd46:
So if P.K. Subban is ready and willing to play at the worlds, why would Team Canada not want a Norris nominee?

It sucks but I'm fine with it. It'll be extra motivation for next season and will light a fire under his ass.

He's all the tools to make a great defenseman and Norris-like presence in the NHL. He just needs to mature up a bit. Not too much though, his swag-like attitude really rubs off well on others when the team is winning and everything is loosy-goosey.

They chose Hamhuis because he is a LD and the canadians LD are awful.

Subban is RD, which he should clearly go, it's a big reason why he did not go.

Also lets not pretend like hamhuis is a bad choice, the guy is the best canadian D-man on the team now, except maybe campbell who is more of an offensive guy

Yzerman is capping the team at 23 even though he has 2 more roster spots.

There's no way he won't be at the camps.

Btw, there are Olympic camps in the summer, right? When do they start?

Diaz is joining the Swiss team, very probably for the last game of the round robin vs. Belarus on Tuesday.

Crazy, Yzerman.

Will be a great experience for Galchy. Yeah, he's played a lot this year, but he's a young lad. Experience will be worth it.

maybe because he left last year's team with the "knee" injury. Maybe they felt he could still play, but he stayed away due to his RFA status.

Just thinking out loud

LD, RD, who cares? Canada will have to prepare for 2014 when their best defencemen are almost all RD except for Keith. Have guys play on their off sides. Subban on the LD is still 100x better than Dillon on LD.

I'd be pretty pissed as a fan of Team Canada if Vlasic made the Olympic team over Pietrangelo simply because they needed LD.

Watched USA vs France, Bozon saw only 4 shifts, 3 minutes of ice and was a -1. Kristo had a solid game imo, played 10:35, had 2 shots on goal, -1. USA moves into 1st place over Finland now.

Perhaps if they sit Palushaj or Bjugstad, depending on if they want him at LW or C. Palushaj got the least ice time in todays game so perhaps they will sit him next game for Gally.

Hopefully this will be the one and only time he goes to the WC's (meaning he'll be in the NHL playoffs instead), the experience should be too good to pass up as it's only a few more games.

He has played a lot of games, but at this point the value of playing a few more should be worth it imo.

That would be a lot of fun to watch. Imo Kristo has played well so far, he's making things happen in the offensive zone and has used his speed and passing abilities well. He doesn't get a lot of ice time and no PP time which is a shame but adding Galchenyuk on the line would make it very interesting to watch what the two can do out there.
