I hope you folks have Shaw.

This is the best WHL game I've ever seen. Last one this good was possibly 2007 Medicine Hat vs Giants.

heading to OT. Unreal pace and action.

Maybe, that'd be nice.

The players that interest me if we do not decide to move up the draft list are Zykov, Lazar and Rychel. All of these players are hard to contain are strong on the puck. Other than that Drouin interests me if we are moving up the list.

EDIT: This years draft looks pretty good for many teams this year I am liking the stats.

Very good game. Hope game 6 will be just as good.

I thought in the new CBA teams can talk to UFAs after the draft but can't sign them until July 5th. Not sure about that but that would make his rights useless.

Just don't give that pick to any of our Western Canadian scouts.

Still nowhere close to the entire series in last year's final between the same teams, IMO. Cheering for Edmonton, knowing they're still playing this hard and pushing Portland this hard even though they don't have Reinhart.

Mckeen's 1st round mock draft is up. We're predicted to be picking 23rd and choosing Russian winger Valentin Zykov

Big body, gritty skilled winger playing in the Q, thoughts?

24th pick predicted Andre Burakowsky
25th pick predicted Kerby Rychel

Yeah it would be nice to get Zykov I am really worried about who we are going to pick. I know Rychel he has improved on his skating and he worked really hard on it. He wants to play a Mike Richards or Ryan Clowe type of player more of a Ryan Clowe he said in his interview.

Also he is 17th pick in the NHL rankings. But I hope we get Zykov it would be nice to have a Russian on the team.

I don't know about that.

Last nights game was probably better than any single game last year.

I have a hard time not cheering for Portland. Been to the final for the 3rd year in a row. They deserve it.

I like lazar, but its Edmonton. Can't cheer for anything associated with that city.

I'd pick Kerby Rychel. For Canucks, OHL FTW.

Size helps, but look at #12 hanging in our rafters. Small in stature, gigantic on heart.
Taylor Pyrat is also very very very slow. He's got a good shot that's it.

Honestly if we end up picking in the early 20's I would take a gamble on Valerie Nichushkin. It'll depend on who picks before us (hopefully the Caps make it to the final 4...), but Nichushkin is a guy who I can see dropping because he's committed to the KHL for another 2 years. High risk-high reward.

Someone will take Nichushkin before he drops to our spot.

Personally, I would be shocked if Gillis picked a Russian in the first round. Based off his history, I just don't see it happening.

I'm not sure. Remember a few years ago Cherepanov (RIP) dropped. Maxim Mayorov was another guy touted as a first rounder who fell to the 3rd or 4th round. I don't think a player from the KHL has ever been taken in the top 10 since Malkin. Tarasenko was taken 16th recently and that's the only example of a KHL player being taken in the top 20 in recent years. Even Kuznetsov fell out of the top 20.

Even if he does, I doubt Gillis even takes him. Washington are probably salivating behind us.

Probably. Imagine if Washington got both Kuznetsov and Nichushkin to come over at the same time. Wowza.

I also wouldn't be opposed to drafting Zach Fucale.

I'm hoping we get Lazar, but i'd be ok with Gauthier, Mantha, Horvat, Erne or Zykov.

Anyone but those 6, i will be upset, as i dont see any other forwards in our range being top 6 forwards.

There's no way we get Lazar but we should be able to snag one of the other five.

Gauthier, Horvat, Lazar and Zykov will all prob go top 15, all have improved thier rankings as of late imo. Gauthier was really solid in u18(?), Lazar + Zykov + Horvat have been great in playoffs.

Zykov or Horvat would be pretty sweet. I'm hoping for a Canadian though, it's been too long since we've had a first rounder make Team Canada.

Gaunce should make it this year as a bottom sixer though, if he's not on the Canucks.

That's because he's not going to the gym and working hard on gaining muscle mass...

In a 3 month off-season, it's not hard to gain 10 pounds, Mace gained 15 a couple years ago, and he's not exactly a big guy

Yes, but comparing to other people we can draft at that spot, the upside to this guy with his skill is worth it IMO
