Fleury. Don't think teams should pick a goalie with a high 1st round pick.

A bottom 4 defenceman is much more valuable than a backup. Not to mention that Pittsburgh actually traded up to draft Fleury while STL just took Johnson.

Fleury pretty easily imo.

Forget comparing the two. It's more important to me to look at who they passed on. For example, let's look at just the all-stars.

Jonathan Toews
Nick Backstrom
Phil Kessel
Milan Lucic
Claude Giroux

5 great talents. Very disappointing. But.....

Eric Staal
Tomas Vanek
Milan Michalek
Ryan Suter
Dion Phaneuf
Dustin Brown
Zach Parise
Shea Weber
Ryan Getzlaf
Brent Burns
Ryan Kesler
Mike Richards
Jeff Carter
Corey Perry
Loui Eriksson
Patrice Bergeron
David Backes
Jimmy Howard

Want to know how many years has Fleury put up a better sv% than his backup since he came to the nhl?

Three:
2011-2012 (.913 vs. Johnson's .883)
2008-2009 (.912 vs. Sabourin's .898), and
2005-2006 (.898 vs. Caron's .881)

What a great starting goalie.

Oh wait, maybe cup rings don't mean a damn thing.

MAF was the worse pick, he's not a number one goaltender, Erik Johnson is a top four defenseman.
