I could be wrong, but Andersson, Nyquist, Lash (already down), DeKeyser (injured )

Also, not sure on Brunner and Smith. Can anyone provide some info on this.

Ok, that is what I thought. I think Andy and Nyquist are huge additions to this team, though. They looked thin today, even after winning 7-0 in their last two games.

I guess, for the first half the game they were all over them. I think they will be fine if they play like they did today most of the time, just didn't break right. Of course I think they can play better, but they do look to have some obvious advantages in these first two games. I hope they don't get back Gus and Andy for this series, it means the Wings are still in the playoffs.

Kadri is exempt from waivers if my calcutations with capgeek's waiver calculator are correct.

Gardiner is not.

Neither was down/sent down at the deadline regardless, so can't play.

They can send down Colborne though.

McCollum assigned back to GR and they sign Jensen to an ATO as well. I wonder if they'll use him? His age might be an advantage over Ouellet/Sproul but now since Lashoff is there, it probably won't happen..

Keep in mind Jensen was a first team all-american while DeKeyser only got second team. Jensen is very pro ready.

I know. Just saying I find it quite unlikely that any of the current d-men would sit because of him coming in at this stage of the playoffs. Of course, if Lashoff is re-called it's a different situation. Do you think he'll get to play?

I think if one of Jensen/Ouellet/Sproul does get a chance it is most likely to be Jensen right now, then Ouellet and I basically think Sproul has no hope of playing this spring barring substantial injuries. Best chance I see for him drawing in is as a 4th line forward/PP specialist.

Yeah but this is a stupid argument. Offensive defensemen always win these type of awards over defensive defensemen regardless is the defensive defenseman is the much more well rounded player

Yea, Dekeyser is solid defensively and his simple game helped him transition smoothly and quickly. Jensen is more offensive and has the potential to have more growing pains since he's not the defensive defenseman that Dekeyser is. Would be cool to give him a shot and get some playing time to see how he does.

I still dont know why the Wings signed Lashoff with all of these young D-men we have. Hopefully we make a trade of some sort.

Kronwall, E
Smith, Dekeyser
Kindl

That could be a locked D roster for years to come with only a spot or 2.

I think Jensen is good enough to grab a jersey but it comes down to style of play too. Billins, Almqvist, Skinner, Paetsch all move the puck. First two are having great seasons, the other two are veterans. Left is Lashoff who is a lock and Evans, the only heavyweight on the blueline.

I would put Jensen in over Skinner who's been poor in the playoffs, but I think it'll take an injury.

Do the Griffins have any good skaters in their defense corps? Jensen is an elite skater for the NHL and he might add a different dimension to the team.

How many of wings prospects are 'hanging around' with the griffins now? Ouellet? Sproul? Jensen? Who else?

Duncan Keith and Kris Letang -elite skating or? I wish wings had a Dman with that kind of skating

Skating wise yes, maybe even a bit better.

I don't think you can get any better than them. I'd say he's an elite skater, but its tough to compare at this point.

I'm inclined to agree. Glendening not far behind, with Jurco raising his game the most compared to the regular season.

Duncan Keith is exactly who he reminds me of when you watch him skate.

He also was used in shutdown roles a lot of the season, he always drew the tough assignment. So to say he is just an offense guy, when really he changed his game and that is why his offense went down a little is worth noting. He beat DeKeyser out not because his game is more flashy, but because he had a better season. He was maybe the best D-man in the NCAA this season and effective in every zone.

Pulkkinen so far seems to have made a pretty good transition to the AHL.
