You do realize that RNH's rookie season destroys Huberdeau's right?

Glad to see Trocheck in there!! Tallon made a great pick nabbing that kid in the third round after seeing his performance in the OHL this season. I'm excited to see what he can do in the pros.

So Huberdeau (likely rookie of the year) drops

I don't see how larsson can be in anyone's top 8. He has really disappointed at the NHL level so far and based on his skill and his athleticism he is not going to be anywhere near where he was projected as.

The list of players in the NHL that have had the same surgery reads like a who's who. The injury itself was not suppose to be that bad and early reports are that the surgery went very well.

Don't worry he will convince all the naysayers. How a list could be made when more than half if these players have played zero NHL games is beyond me.

My take

1. RNH
2. Landeskog
3. Huberdeau
4. Larrsson
5. Hamilton
6. Brodin
7. Strome
8. Zibanejed
9. Couturier
10. Schiefele
You complain about people not taking into account upside and then go on to rank Shiefele above Baertschi...

Gaborik's release hasn't been the same since his latest surgery. Though, some of it could be attributed to him getting older.

Same with Vinny, he was one of the best in the game. Now he's excellent 2nd line C, #1C on some teams.

Landeskog
Zibanejad
Huberdeau
Brodin
Hamilton
Couturier
Larsson
Baertschi
Pageau
Hopkins
Scheifele
Strome
Klefbom

Most 2011 draftees that have played in the NHL have played better than hopkins. One of the worst first overall picks of the decade next to Johnson, Fleury and DiPietro.

LOL. He had a good 1st round. Calm down ahead of Hopkins, Strome and Scheifele.

Yeah no.

Hopkins had a tough year this year playing on a shoulder that needed operation. Definitely no reason for alarm and certainly no reason to put JG flippin' Pageau ahead of him.

He's still the most promising and talented player from the 2011 draft and the one who has had the most impact on the league to this point, like it or not.

Hmm, care to explain why he leads all 2011 draftees in career points and career ppg?

Ottawa fan? But no, RNH deserves the #1 spot, ahead of Landeskog.

EDIT: Yep, you are... that explains the egregious homerism in your post.

ppg didn't help Tampa Bay and Philadelphia.

Much needed laugh, thanks for that!

How long have you been a comedian BTW and where can I see your act?

As for my list, it's too early for most of these guys but IMO Baertschi and Klefbom move up while Larsson falls a bit. It's too early to tell if Strome and Scheifele warranted their draft position or not.

So two guys NOT playing in the NHL move up, but a guy who IS playing in the NHL moves down?

Hey guys, where would you rank Rickard Rakell as of right now? He went #30. Would he be lower or higher today?

Aside from the extreme homerism from certain Sens' fans, the underrating of Zibanejad continues.

The only two players (as of right now) who I can see passing him are Brodin and Hamilton (and i still take Zibanejad over them).

3 pages and nobody mentioned Nikita Kucherov and Ondrej Palat yet?
Both would go in the first round now. Kucherov has all the talent to become a superstar, but a one dimensional one and Palat will be an amazing shutdown forward with great a playmaking ability.

And I think Namestnikov still belongs in the first round (as response to the 30 picks list).

I know I am a Tampa fan and all three are Tampa picks, but after all, they played better than some of the other guys. As examples Jensen, Pageau, Harrington, Shaw (his AHL numbers aren't impressive, but his NHL numbers are quit good on one of the top4 teams), Noesen

Joel Armia could be a boom or bust pick. I really liked the Sabres picking him but I acknowledge he has a chance of busting. However, with his talent and goal scoring prowess, he could be a top 10 player in this class. Next year, should be his first in North America likely in the AHL.
