Thats what I'm saying! People need to relax! Toronto has never rioted after a loss or a win for that matter. Even the Blue Jays WS wins it was an awesome awesome party on the streets, no looting, just people having a great time together. We are not like Vancouver and Montreal, we actually respect our city. We have a lot of pride where we're from, we're not going to destroy it.

While I hope this isn't the case, I wouldn't hold my breathe, would be embarassing definitely it it happens.

I do anticipate Toronto has a much bigger police system than Vancouver does as well, which should help mitigate the issues.
Toronto doesn't riot! just check the evidence from the past. The reason Vancouver rioted is because they have a reputation of doing it, check youtube and 1994 Vancouver riots. Here we don't riot at all!! Like I said check video of the Jays WS wins it's full of happy people enjoying each other high fiving and having fun. Even in 02 when we lost in the Conference Finals against Carolina there were no riots at all, not even a hint of it. What the Fan590 did was ridiculous

Toronto folks will not dare to riot over sports. I was born and raised in Toronto and we arent pathetic like vancouver folks. We love and take pride of our city.

You'll have those odd groups (drunk careless teenagers) who will try to cause problems (fights) but no way in hell will it escalate further, city wide.

Guys, I am friends with the guy with the sign. It was a joke and meant to replicate a wrestling sign as pointed out in this thread " If Cena wins we riot". Also a little jab at Vancouver. Everyone can settle now.

Is there anyone on here that was around downtown for new years 2000? Tens of thousands of people wandering the streets peacefully. There was a weird vibe in the air too because people didn't know what to expect. Everyone kept it together though and it turned out to be one of my favorite nights of all time.

After last night, I could defiantly see a mini riot taking place if they win the series lol. On Wednesday after the loss everyone just kind of left, however when they won last night Leaf fans blocked off the tunnel on york street and some started jumping and kicking a cab that was unfortunate enough to be stuck in the crowd. At the end some guy got on top of the cab to start a go leafs go chant and ended up breaking off the sign on top.

That's called someone being a jackass not a riot. I don't think anything would happen or will happen unless we somehow win the Cup then I could see utter chaos.

If there is a riot I will be shocked and disgusted with fans. Would be awesome to see people in leaf jerseys "smartening up" anyone attempting to start a riot. Stay classy Leaf fans.

I can't see there being any rioting at all. There's really not going to be any hard feelings if we lose...everyone is just so exuberant that we made the post-season and have actually pushed the highly favored Bruins to at least 6 games.

With Vancouver, it was Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals..and they were a team that had basically been the toast of the regular season for several years without any real playoff success. Expectations and frustration was running high. Totally different atmosphere amongst the fan base.

Just saying this, but first dude to bring a boat to the ACC and publicly burn it gets a gold medal from me.
