Michal Neuvirth to Phoenix for one of the following:

Rusty Klesla

OR

David Moss

OR

2nd round pick

....semi-related but kind-OT; Thomas Greiss to PHX as a UFA on a 1.5m, one-way deal. Competes with Michal Neuvirth for the starter job.

Luongo to Florida Panthers in September. Canucks will retain (20%?) salary and get nothing in return.

Ballard to Anaheim before the draft for late picks.

Edler to Detroit for Abdelkader, NTC related timing.

Not a chance from the Blues perspective and I don't even know who this Kevin Reaves guy is.

I could see it as a way to re-unite Galchenyuk and Yakupov, both who had very good rookie seasons. Would make 2/3 of a fantastic 1st line for the next 10 years for Montreal. Something they haven't had in YEARS. But if they get rid of Subban, their defence would be one of the worst in the league. So I doubt it would go anywhere

I see Toronto trying to capitalize on Mikhail Grabovski's good playoffs, and getting a pick for him and cap relief at the draft.

And for some reason, one of their defenceman is going to be packaged with a draft pick or picks, and maybe another player for either a really strong shutdown #2 defenceman or #1 center. All of their other positions are pretty much locked up going forward.

They have way too many defenceman with potential and lots of puckmovers. They are in desperate need of a strong shutdown defenceman. IMO, one of Franson, Gardiner or Rielly will be a part of that package.

Dion Phaneuf
Jake Gardiner
Cody Franson
Morgan Rielly
John Michael Liles
Mike Kostka (UFA)

Carl Gunnarsson
Mark Fraser
Ryan O'Byrne (UFA)
Korbinian Holzer
Stuart Percy
Peter Granberg
Jesse Blacker

Tons of puckmovers and very little shutdown defenceman. Gunnarsson is excellent #2 pairing shutdown guy and Fraser/Holzer/O'Byrne/Blacker can fill that 3rd pairing role.

Thats great because why would Edmonton trade one of their best defensive prospects for a mirror of J.Schultz but a decade older.

I love Campbell but we can't afford him either way. This team needs ELCs with all of the raises these kids have coming in the future.

You can have Cody for a 5th or 6th rounder.

You may not have Steve Ott unless for extreme overpayment....

You aren't close.

If SJ loses to LA I could see them moving a peice or 2. Ther was talk of Boyle being available at the dead and we DESPRATELY need to get Phaneuf some help I could see Toronto calling about Boyle

Canucks might have to dump salaries and then try to mitigate the optics. They just gave Edler a five year deal at lowish money, they'd look like dix if they moved him. It would seem less heinous if they could claim somebody badgered them for Edler and it was a good thing for the player.

Gardiner for Coburn. Coburn would thrive under Carlyle's system and Gardiner would be that puck moving offensive defenseman the Flyers are looking for.

Phil Kessel to the Blues for Chris Stewart, Roman Polak, and Jaroslav Halak.

(All predicated on Kessel's contract situation not going well)

Polak played on the 2nd pairing in the playoffs against LA and did fine despite being paired with another defensive d-man. Pair him with a puck mover and he is usually pretty rock solid.

Don't know if Toronto has any interest in Halak. That's part of the reason for this offer. To find out.

I'd imagine Toronto has interest in Berglund. You guys have in the past. If we confident about getting Jori Lehtera over from Europe, that could be arranged.

Jackets don't need help on the blueline. We need scoring help with forwards, not defense.
