I'm so pissed we didn't acquire Voracek when there was a remote chance of that happening. He's amazing.

Apologies if this has been posted already (didn't really look) but after being down 3-1 in the series the London Knights beat the Colts last night 5-4 in OT (after giving up a 4 goal lead...) to force a game 7.

Game 7 is tomorrow at 4:05. The Knights 2013 draft eligibles Domi, Horvat and Zadorov have all been exceptional in the playoffs. Tierney has been very good as well and Sefton just goes about his job, nothing flashy.

Yeah, Columbus really got ripped on the Carter trade. Man was that bad.

I don't even think there was a chance.

Apropos of nothing (except that it lets me use the word "apropos") from the Moderators' in-progress mock draft, where Spin & I selected Horvat with the Sharks' pick

Here's hoping.

Rankings (not mock draft slots since most mocks only project the lottery right now)
THN: 16th
TSN McKenzie: not in his top 10
TSN Button: 19th
ISS: 24th
CSB: 15th NA Skater

It's not likely unless the Sharks traded up, especially the way he's playing in the OHL playoffs, but stranger things have happened.

After a very short Google*:

Where He Will End Up in June:
Based on his exceptional playoff performance so far, Bo Horvat seems poised to be selected in the 10-15 range, as evidenced in the following tweets:

https://twitter.com/BrockOtten/statu...12000045576192
https://twitter.com/BrockOtten/statu...12259593289728

As such, Horvat is likely to drop no further than the Winnipeg Jets at 13 or the Columbus Blue Jackets at 14.

*No idea how accurate this might be.

I agree, I doubt he'll still be on the board when the Sharks pick but I'd be thrilled if he is.

I've seen several people compare Horvat to Boone Jenner (which might be fair) but I see some Couture type potential in him. Not quite full-on Logan level since Horvat doesn't have the same offensive chops, but Couture-lite in that he's a smart, smart player who can and will play any situation asked of him (PP, PK, ES all situations, up or down late in games, etc). Better skater than Logan is, although he's not a burner by any stretch of the imagination.

Well I'm sure whomever Sharks draft this year will be a surprise anyway.

And then they turned around and traded him for a late first and a meh defenseman. What a disaster.

I love Horvat as a player. I think he could potentially go top-10 because he's shown that he can do everything right all year, and then he's stepped up and lead the Knights offensively in the playoffs. A play-making Pavelski type more than a Couture IMHO. But I'd certainly be pleased if he fell to us. Seems like your typical Sharks pick. High hockey IQ, great two-way play, decent size, needs work on skating, doesn't have huge offensive potential. Reminds of Ryan O'Reilly in his draft year.

If Freddie Hamilton makes it, he could challenge Patty for the title of "best eyebrows".

Is there a chance Freddie Hamilton could see some NHL time in the playoffs? Is he close to being close to ready, or not yet?

It's very unlikely he plays this postseason. Kennedy, Pelech and Kearns are all with the team on a regular basis (meetings, practice, etc.) while Hamilton is skating with the rest of the black aces.

His defensive game is very close to NHL ready, he still has some work to do on the offensive side.

Isn't Pelech basically a goon? Is he really more NHL caliber than Hamilton?

That's definitely not what I said & my opinion about him doesn't really matter.

Pelech has a lot more pro experience then Hamilton but there's little chance (I hope) that he sees any time this postseason either. Their 'depth' order right now is likely Kennedy, Kearns, Pelech.

The Knights beat the Colts on a literal buzzer beater (.01 seconds left) from (none other then) Horvat to win the series and the OHL Championship. Pretty sure Horvat just solidified himself to go at least top 15 in this draft, scored 2 goals and made a pretty good save.

Tierney will be join Abeltshauser in playing for the Memorial Cup.

I'm kinda conflicted. It's great that he's doing so well but I'm bummed that he's possibly played his way out of the Sharks pick range.

Do you think that Tierney will be tasked with shutting down Mackinnon and Drouin?

I think Horvat will likely see quite a bit of time against those two with Tierney getting a bit as well.
