Surprising to see Nilsson listed as weighing below 180, or even 190 in fact. The way he punishes players with his hits makes me think of Kronwall who isn't notably a big guy either.

I quick hockeydb search just told me Rielly has 0pts in 3 AHL playoff games for the Marlies this year. But there's obviously more to be said there.

How has he looked to those that have seen him? And why isn't he getting more ice-time?

You can't demote a player who has played enough nhl games you must first put him on waivers and he would be subject to be picked up by other teams and sent to their ahl team. Remember Boyce. For instance the Leafs couldn't demote Gardiner because he would be subject to waivers.

They aren't sent to the other team's AHL team. They have to remain with the parent club if they successfully claim the player.

And if the team is not in the nhl playoffs and is on the clear day roster of an ahl roster?

London hanging on. This better not be the second time a highly touted Colts team can't finish what they started

Nice.

BTW as some one from Ornskoldsvik(assuming you follow MODO) what do you think of the acquisition of Loov?

Anyone watch london knights vs barrie game 6 right now?
How that goal is allowed to tie the game is insane

I definitely want to see a replay slowed down for an angle other than the corner. The angle from the corner looked 100% kicked in, the other ones made it seem like it may have touched his stick as well. Hoping the Knights can pull through.

I have watched every televised Marlies game since Rielly's been up and in my opinion, he still has a lot to learn or rather adjusting to do. I don't think he makes the Leafs roster next year unless he has a really big summer of preparation, etc (Roberts?). His timing seems a little off. Sometimes he's holding onto the puck and wanting to skate it up ice when the situation calls for a quick outlet pass. He's turned over the puck a lot from holding it too long, and he looks lost in the zone at times. On the positive, he's a lot stronger than I expected, and is winning more battles for the puck against men than you would expect from someone his age. He's also very good at escaping the zone with just a quick pass, rather than leading the rush. Basically, he just really needs to get to the quickness of the game. Too bad he can't spend time in the AHL next year, instead of going to the Leafs or Junior, cause in my opinion, he's too good for junior, and needs to get acclimated to the pro game.

I've heard in the past that not all CHL rinks are NHL standard size (a few are wider). I'm not sure if this is true of Mosaic Place but here's a few examples.

Val-d'Or - 195x85, but it looks even shorter than that (190x85?)
Rouyn-Noranda - 190x85
Drummondville - 190x85
Chicoutimi - 200x100 (Olympic size)
Belleville - 200x100 (Olympic size)
Niagara - 190x85

http://ice-rink.com/PDF/ice_rink_dimensions_rink.pdf

length 200/width 85-100

http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Are_NHL_an..._the_same_size

As per the WHL site, "The official size of the rink shall be two hundred feet (200') long and eighty-five feet (85') wide."

So, yes... These are the same dimensions as an NHL rink.

Well, if that's the case it's just the pace he's having trouble with. But there are CHL rinks that are bigger, so my assumption was not completely unwarranted.

He also could have had the game winner with the 4th goal. Arguable that Barrie's tying goal to send it to OT was kicked in.

The commentators (who have seen more of Granberg both in the SEL and playing for Tre Kronor then I have) have all been impressed with how quickly he have adapted to the higher tempo and responsibility of the national level. Sounds promising.

Who knows, he could be the top 4 right dman we're looking for. A grittier Gunnarson would be unbelievable.

BTW, does anyone know where you can see clips of Granberg play?

Team Sweden adds NHL:ers Sedin, Sedin & Edler to the WC squad. Sweden has been struggling and there's been a lot of speculations on how the new first line will look. Media just revealed that the Sedins will play with Dallas forward Loui Eriksson, in front of Edler...and Petter Granberg.

Wowzerz. Coaching staff must have a lot of faith in him. Should be a great learning experience for him! Go (Swedish) Leafs!!
