I won't knock Price too much in that series but he could certainly elevate his game further.
This is the thing....I think Price has all the tools, he just isn't there yet, not close, IMO.

I hate it when the public address announcers sound like pro wrestlers.

Halak would make a good backup if we didn't have Budaj

We have to admit that McClement was a great pickup by Toronto.

No GM in the NHL would take Halak over Price. Even with his struggles the last 5-6 weeks.

Halak is well insulated in St.Louis but he can't stay healthy/consistant enough to carry the mail. He's lost the #1 job to both Allen and Elliott this year.

Price did not get a lot of help last year and he did well to have solid stats. This year with a lot more help(less shots and better defense) until Emelin got hurt.

I(and Bergevin) would make that Eller-Halak deal again any day and twice on Sundays.
ONLY thing I'm saying is that what we want for Price to become good is the EXACT same thing we're saying Halak had in St.Louis so he had no merit as far as his performance is concerned. They did win the Jennings not too long ago.

Your reply is not what I was saying. OF COURSE, everybody was more inclined to prefer Price over Halak. Because Halak had only 1 impressie playoffs and because Price was still filled with potential....the last 2 years DIDN'T happen when the trade was done. But that wasn't my point to begin with.

Point being, some keep mentioning our bad team to explain Price subpar performance, yet the same keep undervalued Halak performance based on how great his team was.....Doesn't make any sense to me.

the more I watch Holtby, the more I wonder if he has any chance making team canada. He has been impressive in the playoffs, hope he continues this play for the capitals. seems like a big game player.

Are we really doing this? Lundqvist was 25 before he won his 1st playoff round, 30 before he won his third.

Price isn't elite? Fine. But he's 25, so at least hold off on condemning him.

Yup. Someone else mentioned it on the main boards. It's a wonder the people that made the ad didn't notice that.

25 yes, but still, he has close to 350 games of experience. Next year is very key for Price. He needs to step it up and be consistent.

lol The goaltender interference call on VanRiemsdyk was hilarious. He was crosschecked into Rask by a Bruin and yet the Bruins get a PP. Meanwhile, in Montreal.....

We had the WORST reffed series by far. I have never seen it so brutal, and I've been watching since 1984. Still pissed about it too.

Oh well, Sens won't be getting the calls against the Pens that's for sure.

Boston has been pretty unimpressive all series, and Toronto is just bad.

I wouldn't read too much into a guy over performing after being traded to a new team. Happens all the time. Jussi Jokinen isn't some God even though he goes on a tear every time he goes to a new team.

If every 5 times Grabovski got hit hard it counted as 1 goal the Leafs would have won this series already.

I try to post in the main playoff thread for this Leafs game and everything I say gets deleted and they're just comments about the game.

What is going on with mods these days, worse than NHL refs!
