If someone like Darnell Nurse drops a bit I would love to package something to move up and snag him.

Kind of hard to not be happy about the season, but sadly, this team still suffers from problems we've had for so long. Spineless and willing to give up on any given occasion. It's a long-term process though.

I really hope we don't. The top-3 rounds of this draft are awesome. I'd rather take 6 guys that have a chance of panning out.

Unless there is some ridiculous deal that can move up from like 26th to Top-15, then I don't want to trade a 2nd or 3rd rounder THIS year to move up to like 22nd.

We agree on this. A deep draft, I'd rather throw a lot of darts on the board then go for one player and hope he meets expectations.

The key to winning the cup is depth, depth on cheap contracts.

A great regular season... until Emelin got hurt on a courageous hit on Lucic.

Playoffs?

Maxpac 0 goals
Markov 0 goals
DD 0 goals
Prust 0 goals
Plekanec 0 goals
Gionta 0 goals

Some guys were significantly hurt... and that is a legit reason.

Anderson was very solid... and that is a legit reason.

However those are some ugly stats when taken together.

Plekanec had a team high 4 assists and Prust isn't here to put up points (not to mention was in bad shape).

Hell yes. Stayed til the end of game 5 and then some and cheered my ass off.

Team was dealt some bad cards. Sure, teams have injuries, but this was just ridiculous. (and in comes size/toughness prevents injuries argument)

Got bad luck at the wrong time and for a while now it's sucked waiting all season, then having to go in with a pretty banged up team (consider the 2011 Habs were missing an amazing Patches and a more mobile Markov).

Anyway, will sting for a bit, but very very proud and it's nice glimmer into the future of the direction of the organization. Galchenyuk's post game 5 interview reactions were amazing. Badly, badly wants to win and is now fully aware that the NHL is a joke and that he'll have to take matters into his own hands.

Too bad we weren't able to salute half the Habs.

Proud of the team, but disappointed in the NHL. Looks like next season will be another where I don't spend a dime on the NHL.

I think the teams weaknesses were badly exposed once again and I am proud of them, but I fully expect our new management to fix the areas that need repair. That being said, this was always supposed to be a rebuilding year and we ended up second. This is simply not a team built for the playoffs.

Looking forward to the offseason and the next season. Show us your stuff, Bergevin!

If it's anything like 2003, there will be a number of good impact players in the 2nd round.

Still think we should've gotten Calgary's first last year though. Nice to have the 2nd but the 1st was there for the taking.

It was a major step forward, that's for sure. Still some things that have to be fixed but man we're looking a lot better than we did. Gallagher is just a huge bonus, I never thought he'd be an impact player and he was arguably our best (and certainly our most consistent) forward this year. Add in Galchenyuk and Subban's monster year and it really bodes well for the future. A lot went right for us this year.

Yes. I don't think we are a really good team but the reason we were 1st in our division is because we worked hard pretty much all season long so I don't see how I cannot be proud of my team.

Well lets see we overachieved and blew our brains out in the playoffs. I guess if just making the POs is ok thent sure but as a die hard HABS fan since the late 60s I am not impressed with anything short of a cup sorry but less than that is a failure.

I expect them to be in the race for Seth Jones and they ended 2nd in the conference. How can you not be proud of that? Or the accomplishments of Subban? Gallagher? Eller? Galchenyuk? Bouillon who proved he still had good hockey left in him.... Tinordi who is slowly but surely living up to the hype. Beaulieu who showed flash of greatness.

If I was told that wed win the division and lose in the 1st rd, I would have laughed. No way, I thought this was a 9th place team. We have solid talented core to graft some grit to and were looking at a contender.

How can I be proud ....
- when we are the worst team among 16 teams that make playoffs, after seeing how good NYI and Leafs were playing
- when we lost in 5 quick games, and 2 blowouts
- when we lost to a team whose the best forward was Alfredsson, Michalek, Pageau

How can I be proud.....
- when we were terrible in the last dozen games of regular season, when the intensity increased
- we were outscored in some of those games

At best, I'm indifferent. No way that I can be proud.

- Went from 15th to 2nd.
- 4th in entire NHL
- Won the division
- PK a Norris finalist
- Gallagher a Calder finalist
- Bergevin a GM of the year finalist

- Ottawa was better than a 7th seed

You're right. I hate this team too. Bunch of saps making the playoffs and losing in five, despite being counted out before the start of the season.

I hate hockey.

No, why would I be proud? The team is on the right track, but I take no pride in mediocrity and a shortened season where we did well.
