Seriously Baines, Locke, O'Byrne, Grabovksi and officially Price and Danis should've been on that list.
.
What's your problem with these guys? Keeping them around as additional players during camp allows the team to have scrimmages during practice with a semi-normal amount of players on each side.
The season is long and physically demading as it is. Why do you want the team to embark on an 85 game schedule BEFORE making it to the playoffs? What do you know about managing a training camp roster?
On top of that, Grabovski cannot be demoted until he is injury free. it's a rule.

Well why would you announce a day of cuts when you only have the intention of cutting 3 guys? Why did Carbo announce that beginning today, it will be Huet and Aebisher till the end while Dogs have started their camp, and Tri-City is in a middle of their preseason. Is that me who said that the last 2 games against Ottawa, Carbo had the intention of going with his full lineup minus 1 or 2???
Grabovski is hurt so he can't be part of your scrimmages so I'm only saying that I thought 3 more would be added. Talk about that much of a difference for your scrimmages.....
Edit: Oops! Locke has been added to the list of cuts......Carbo doesn't know anything about managing a training camp roster....

Carbo said he wanted his team to be done by the last 2 games, he also said that if young guys force him he will keep them for a longer look. I dont think other anyone except kost, lats and the last guys fighting for the 7th d spot should stay with the team right now.
Basicaly, carbo wants to have the guys that have real chance to make the team with him now.

No I didnt question Carbo's ability to manage a TC roster. I am questioning what you know about such things. So what if Baines hangs out a little longer? Maybe there was a side deal when he agreed to sign with the org that he needs to play X amount of games before being cut. Only then he would agree to sign and play for Hamilton... It's like having anotehr Landry around.
And what's the problem with keeping Price in town in order to work with Melanson, even though every one knows he is going down? is there a problem?

Well, its just that its that time of the camp where every prospect is cut and only those who are going to make the team stays. Carbo mentinoned that he wanted only those who are going to be part of the regular lineup this weekend and guys like locke... ect are CLEARLY not going to be starting on oct 6th.
You have a good point for the scrimmage but the goal here is to stay with a minimal manageable roster. The only guys who should be kept are those who cause the team serious problem:
i.e.:
Kostitsyn, Perezhogin, Latendresse for the forwards
Jancevski and Benoit for 7th. Athough you know Jancevski will be kept as the 7th guy with Streit in as 6th and Benoit looking a bit soft on the defensive side... a bit more like Streit than Bouillon imo... and Jancevski looking like a stay-at-home guy.

Well since it's suppose to be a board of OPINIONS that's what I'm giving. Yes there must be something we don't know about Baines 'cause hockey wise, IN MY OPINION, a player like Ferland should definately be ahead of Baines as far as that type of player is concerned. And I'm basing myself with quotes that we heard the management say about not wanting to keep that many players around and then we see that they are true to what they said.
