Thanks CoachBomba. I guess my list of remaining forwards was complete.

And I am glad it turned out that way. It shows that everyone is progressing at the rate everyone had hoped (although Lapierre in my opinion is close as well).

All good cuts so far imo. I'll be surprised if Price is still around by the end of the day, but he may be. He obviously isn't staying for many reasons. He could be the best goalie we have and he still wouldn't stay. With free agency and the cap, teams are not anxious to start players young unless it is needed. This works against Lats too, although he has an edge to his game that we could use on the top two lines. It will be interesting to see what happens. Any predictions on who wins between O'Byrne and Jancevski?

Ok, does anyone have any theories as to why our super forward Baines is still here?

I didn't follow Lapierre at all, but Chipchura and Ferland were both pretty good. Not good enough to stay, but I was pleasantly surprised with their performance.

I would have thought that Ferland did enough in his role to deserve a spot as well.

I thik Carbo is dying to say 'McBaines' in a game situation with a Simpsons voice.

Just a thought...

Well, Grabs has an injury, so his presence won't affect the final roster. Baines however...

I would have thought that Baynes, Gravorsky, Price would have been cut as well since they clearly have no shot at making the team.

Also they still have 3 D-Men fighting for the no.7 spot, also would have thought they would have a better idea by now and cut it down to 2.

It says he's a C. Maybe he's the reason Ribs is pushing so hard. Big competition

Naw, they gotta keep the suspense going all season long just in case he gets a bit of yo-yo action if something transpires with Huet or Aebischer. He'll just quietly start playing in Hamilton, and we'll never know if it was because he cleared waivers or if he was exempt. At least, that's the way I'd do it if I was running the Habs. Gotta keep the fanatics guessing.

I'm a big fan of Ferland, and was also under the impression that to be sent to Hamilton, he'd have to clear waivers, so I was hoping there'd be a spot for him as a reservist.

But honestly, there just isn't much room.

As much as I like him, at this stage of the game, he is not better than Begin, Murray, or Bonk, and he doesn't fill the same role as Downey.

Anyway, I'm hoping we can keep Ferland's rights, as he'd be a good contributor in Hamilton, and definitely near the top of the call-ups list alongside Lapierre for third/fourth line pluggers.

I'm not doubting you or anything, but where did you hear this?

Does anyone else think that Grabovski remaining on the active roster is a sign that he's healing well and may even be well enough to get into one of the last 2 preseason games?

RDS added that price has been sent to Tri-City.

As for Ferland, does anybody know whether he is on waivers right now?

If Ferland has to go through recall waivers he'll probably spend the whole year in the AHL. I would expect a team to pick him up if they only had to pay half of his contract.
