Interesting you would say that since for the last three years we brought that very item up and everyone played it down.

Nothing like dealing with a constantly moving argument....... makes the world go round.... and round..... and round.

Well last year was a winning season and an appearance in the west conf finals. I also think people really belived that "weeks not months" thing.

We'll see for sure this year. I guess. Or not. Never mind.

Could you enlighten us by posting this numbers or are they so small that they really make no difference to anyone. MOD

Okay, so I knew this Phoenix-ownership thingy would take a while to sort out, but never in my wildest imagination did I dream it would take so long that the LEAFS would make it to a Game 7 before the Coyotes have a new owner!!! THANK YOU KESSEL!!!

Did I hear that while I was watching the LEAFS beat the Bruins on Friday, somebody made some kind of offer on the Coyotes?!

See what happens when your team makes the stupid playoffs? You miss all the juicy BOH news!

Do hope there isn't some big COG council meeting or some kind of presser or anything tomorrow night. There's something else going on in Boston then too!

Phoenix LXXVII: It only tastes Premium
Phoenix LXXVII: You wanted more than Premium?
Phoenix LXXVII: Where only 'Premium' bidders need apply

To honor the vast majority of BoH posters to these LXXVI Phx threads from out-of-state pining for the team to relocate perhaps the next thread could be "Tired of Waiting, Tired of Waiting, For You-oo-oo..."

You heard right. In fact, the potential owner's PR firm even did a quick junket to tell anyone willing to listen that their offer is really, really great.

Very Excite!

"Very Excite!" makes a good topic for the next thread. Borat will be the thread's mascot.

Surely you don't think anything will come of this? Bill Daly hasn't even come out of his cuckoo clock to say "weeks not months"...

Why exactly a $1-billion LPL advisor thinks he's the guy to buy and turn around the Phoenix Coyotes?

I don't know it that link has already been posted here.

Pastor points out that “despite the fact that they’re in bankruptcy and the joke of the league,” the team still won the Western Conference championship in 2012.
um, what?

edit: so this story illustrates how he's growing his firm. He started out in October 2012 with 5 advisors and $450 million of assets under management (AUM). He's now up to nearly $1 billion of AUM and 65 advisors, so he's recruited 60 advisors with an average of less than $10 million of AUM - these are small fries.

Also, it should be noted that none of that AUM would really be available to him to fund the purchase of an NHL franchise. If he does have the money it's from family and other contacts.

On a serious note, I would at least expect a potential owner who "lives hockey" to at research the Yotes playoff run before making a statement like that.

Cut him some slack. He never claimed they won the Cup... only that they played in the finals. The man knows his hockey.

If those numbers are correct, we can all go home, this guy would have problems buying a McDonalds franchise!

According to Pastor, there is no hockey team in Winnipeg! He has a great hockey acumen.

What a joke this clown is! The article states that the new headquarters for Capstone is a substantial 10,000 sq.ft! My house is nearly that size, this is all about free publicity. BTW, 1BB in assets amounts to revenue of 10MM if assets are charged a standardized fee of 1%. So what he has is a 10MM business!

the arena location, next to the Arizona Cardinals stadium right outside Phoenix, is “fantastic,” he says.
Clearly this guy not only knows his hockey, he knows the Coyotes market as well. Just wow!.
