Luongo, Schneider, Fleury, Nabokov.

Even tho guys like Hiller and Howard have been good, both have allowed 3 or more goals in 4 out of the 7 games. People would be going off on Price if he put up the same.

Montreals biggest concern in the playoffs is the fact they scored 9 goals in 5 games and their PP was at a 15.8% clip

I begin this post by pledging my undying hatred for both the Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins.

However, I must give the Leafs credit. They have demonstrated more desire in this series simply put. They won every puck race, and finished every check tonight while the Bruins looked overwhelmed, slow, and intimidated. I cannot see how Boston with their lack of scoring, speed, and subpar power-play get them anywhere these playoffs, let alone another victory. Rask is the only player earning his paycheck on the Bruins.

I actually hope Chiarelli does not feel the need to make many changes. This Boston team is in decline, and will have trouble contending in the new Eastern conference as early as next year - you heard it here first.

Finding the balance between skill/speed and toughness/grit is not an easy one, but the Leafs are serving notice to the league that they are no longer prepared to play the part of doormat.
Credit to Dave Nonis for QUIETLY providing a vote of confidence for many of his younger players, and embattled veterans of the past. Gone are the days of Brian Burke throwing his players under the bus, and having his coaches follow his lead. Not a lot of roster turnaround in TO from last year, but the results are dramatically changed. Burke will get some credit for piecing this roster together, but it is no coincidence that this group would experience success after "*****ing" Brian was gone - his perpetual negativity was a cancer to the franchise.

As much as I hate TO and Boston, it is good to see the original six franchises all in the playoffs once again!

Emerson Etem is a damn fine young player. Not like I thought we should've picked him.

3th (Ducks), 4th (Habs), 6th (Blues) and 8th (Canucks) team in the league standings have now been eliminated.

Tomorrow, the 5th team (Boston) and 10th (Washington) might join them....

Season doesn't mean ****

I hate the fact that the Leafs have a solid D corp. A guy like Franson was on his way out last year and this year he's been money. I really hope Bergy can make some moves to make our D corp bigger and harder to play against. Time will tell!

it isnt solid, they're facing a team that isnt skating much that is all.

Seriously, TO/Boston is probably the lowest pace serie we've seen in the last decade.

Come on.. Price was bad but he is not the worst performer. Fleury is and it's not even close. Fleury was was just brutal.

I disagree I think the Leafs D has been solid. Boston is clearly worn down you could really see it in tonights game. When they go to the net they are paying dearly.

I gotta say I never thought the Habs would cheer on the Leafs. I was rooting for you guys to beat the Senators. I hate the Senators... For a small market team they have a boatload of obnoxious fans. I know Toronto and MTL has their share as well, but we probably have 100x the fans the Senators do.

You have such a young core to build around and the loss to Ottawa will drive you guys next year. If the Leafs lose to Boston I'm just happy they got some experience. No one expected them to last 5 games, let alone take them to 7.

Either way, good luck next year. Go Pittsburgh

People do indeed put too much into "But we finished 2nd". Especially in a small season when there's only 8 points separating us to the Isles. It means more when teams like Pittsburgh or Chicago have bigger leads over the next teams. But for the rest? Nope....it means so much.

I'm reluctant about this happening. After all, he reached out to get Prust, Armstrong (forward) and Cube. All under 200. I don't think he cares about size.

He also gave the nod to Tinordi to play during the playoffs.

He cares about hard work first. Armstrong, Prust and Bouillon are all players that will give it their 110% despite their lack of hockey skill.

It really annoyed me when the Toronto Maple Leafs got Cody Franson for cheap. I remember half this forum was pissed off at our GM for not putting in a bid on a player that we would clearly want on our team.

Franson has since surpassed expectations.

To be fair, the goalies you mentioned are all eliminated.
I don't think Price actually played badly, but he wasn't amazing either and even he mentioned he needs to be better. It's not a big secret.
I agree that a lot of the people whining about Price would likely whine about any other goalie, I mean, some whined about Roy..

As for us losing due to our inability to score, I agree, except it wasn't from a lack of chances. We outplayed the sens for the most part, but Anderson was there for them. That is why people focus on Price. Anderson clearly outplayed him.

I know they just beat our boys but I find myself hoping Ottawa wins the cup. I didn't find much to hate about them in that series.
