Hoping for Hradek to get it right, no Bruins in the second round =

At least 1 analyst is going to go 8 for 8! Would love to see someone run the table, that'd be cool.

Took the Sens 5 games to knock off the Habs and people thought it'd be closer then Bruins v Leafs which is on Game 7.
You're really misinterpreting the poll.
18/18 picking the pens doesn't assume that people thought this series was a 4 game sweep. It means that 18 of the 18 people questioned thought the pens would win in 4-7 games. And without having to pick the number of games, that doesn't leave this as just a common sense poll. It isn't as if they picked the higher seed in each series.

Revisit your logic please.

Yeah, I just mean if it was that unanimous obviously people thought there was no chance the Pens would lose it. Most of the picks went to higher seeds except for misleading seeds (Like 'Nucks vs. Sharks, Caps vs Rangers) you could have polled HFboards and come up with the same result.

I missed this thread the first time around. It's entertaining to read some of the replies, especially the ones trashing the professionals for not picking their team when, in fact, the professionals ended up being right. I won't quote them because that would be cruel... and I'm not perfect in my own predictions (though I don't trash pros for disagreeing with me, either).

Outside of Pit over NYI and Chi over Min, I don't see how a lot were common sense, except in hindsight. It wasn't common sense for #7 Ott to defeat #2 Mtl or #7 Det to defeat #2 Ana or #6 SJ to defeat #3 Van or even #5 LA to defeat #4 STL. If the higher-seeded team had won each of those matchups, people probably would've called those results common sense.

Damn, Morreale is right on the money if Boston and Washington both win

I'm like 3/6 so far (LA, Pittsburgh and Chicago right)

assuming all the same experts continue to pick the future rounds, an expert-by-expert scorecard would be sweet.

I need Washington and Boston to pull it out of the fire, and then I'm 8/8.

But predicting things like playoffs is a total crapshoot anyways. I only picked Detroit and San Jose, for example, just because they were the low seed in what I thought was a toss-up series.

Looks like if the Rangers win, no one will remain perfect.

I know the TSN guys made predictions as well, but I'll be damned if I can find them anywhere. Here are ESPN's picks though (and they picked # of games too):

And the Sharks don't have home ice, got a large percentage of their points in the shootout, and were pretty bad on the road. Doesn't make sense to me.

amusing how all 3 of those teams ended up winning, two of them in 4/5 games

also gonna hop on the whole "chest thumping about being perfect if things break right tonight" thing(got Boston and Washington)

Morreale, Hradek, Cox can go 8/8

Rangers wins, no one 8/8
Leafs wins, Hradek
Bruins wins, Cox and Morreale

The ESPN panel has noone who can go 8/8. Joe MacDonald is the only one who got the west right, and he picked Montreal.

I am 5 for 6 right now but can easily be an average 5 for 8 by the end of tonight. So far the only one I have wrong is Anaheim Detroit.

I agree with an earlier poster alot of these names arent the so called 'professionals 'up here in canada.

Lets see, If Boston and Washington win I'm 4/4 in the East, and 1/4 in the West. Ouch.

So I could end up 3/8. Ouch.

Only Western winner I picked correctly was Detroit. I don't bet against the Red Wings come playoff time that's for sure.

You picked the Wild over the Hawks?
