Need toughness. Change Markov for a big tough dman (bieksa). Diaz can have his role on pp.

One of DD or Gionta has to be traded as well. Can have three guys under 5'9 in your top 6/9
He's not going to be saying what he'll be doing in the off-season. He'll say he's going to try to improve the team, and that this year went well, etc.

Don't expect anything shattering.

-Gives credit to sens in the series...they deserved to win, they were the better team.
- Team slowed down near the end of the season, especially after clinching with the game against the Toronto. Carey had difficulty against them. All teams have difficult times though and we had a little bit of success near the end.

-Hard to pinpoint one reason why the team slowed down.

Either the leadership is wrong, the team was too physically exhausted or the coach let up too much.

It can't be anything else. If the GM think the team straight up QUIT that doesn't bode well.

Size question:
-Says he believes in balance. Team is small, but fast. You do not change the make up of a team over night. Balance is important. You cannot win with only big guys and you cannot with only small guys. You need balance and character players like Gallagher.

Desharnais question and his slip after extension...why sign him early.
-Easy to say in hindsight. Desharnais had a good year last year, had a good start this year...he has arbitration, the way it works with the points he put up, arbitration would have given more or less that money. He did not play well, but he will bounce back. I do not have a crystal ball.

"I don't care how big you are, if you have no character you aren't going to succeed. " Bergevin's response to Marinaro

I feel like that one was specially formulated for Marinara

Desharnais is young? that's why you game him that horrendus contract? Subban is younger and also had a really great season last year and you low balled him buddy. **** off Bergevin.

How quickly people forget...

"He's part of the team, he'll report to camp."
Bergevin on Gomez, before training camp.

On goaltending and Price's comments about pressure:
- It's normal in a market like Montreal, Toronto and Philly...it is a hard position to play and really demanding and normal that they feel the pressure. Carey Price is 25, it's important to remember. It's hard to deal with pressure at that age. He's personally not concerned. He's 100% behind Carey Price.

Says you can't change a team overnight. Your one/two FA signings and a trade or two away from being a borderline contender. Make it happen MB please.

Kaberle question:

Buy out is an option, but he's not there yet.

Biggest need question:

-there is more than one need. Depth is the most important, especially in the playoffs. It doesn't occur at the deadline, you get depth at the draft. I am staying pat on this issue. Depth, character and speed are the most important factor to reach your goal and to win.

Yup... looks like the team will be staying the same next season. He's going to build through the draft.

It's clear you don't have an understanding how the contracting process works.

Good.

I'd rather have a solid team for 6-7-8+ years rather than trade assets and picks for a hot-shot player and a "possible" run at the Cup.
