Its not a personnel thing though. Its Torts inability to adjust to the team your playing. Against a team like Boston, who doesn't have a quick transition game(not a whole lot of skill either). Torts game plan is fine. But against teams like Pitt, Caps, Chicago etc: its just a mess.

If Torts was smart. He would attack Caps D all series wreck havoc in the slot. He doesn't want to play that way because he is terrified of trapping our forwards below the hashmarks for Caps counter attacks. The irony is that forcing the Caps D to play in their own end is exactly how you beat them.

I think I am the only one in my pool to pick the Wings over the Ducks.
Of course, I also picked the Blues over the Kings, and the Canadiens over the Senators (really not sure why I did that last one LOL).

I picked Detroit in seven here: http://hfboards.hockeysfuture.com/sh...&postcount=943

Also predicted the Hawks/Wild series, but everyone got that right.

Struck out on St. Louis in seven and Vancouver and six. At least the Blues series was kind of close.

I wouldn't bet any money on Hawks/Wings. Way too hard to call.

You're doing well. I'm similar, but flipped on a couple of series. I mostly picked from the head, except for the Rangers which was both head and heart.

I forgot half my picks.

CHI-MIN in 5 I got. But, who didn't?

I'll make some predictions for the West series now.

Hmmmmmmm....

Sharks over Kings in six.

Hawks over Red Wings in seven <- could really go either way, depends entirely on goaltending and the team's depth forwards, IMO. Hawks have the better names; Hossa/Sharp > Franzen/Filppula. Detroit's got a bit more experience and the, IMO, far better goalie in Howard.

Howard could steal the series, IMO.

EDIT: Forgot Pens/Sens

Senators over Pittsburgh in seven

Didn't even do our series, bit of a superstition of mine.

Yeah, I struck out on the number of games, but so far I'm 4 for 6, if Toronto wins I'll be 5/7. That's pretty good.

So, I've been looking into picking up a phone, and was on the verizon site. Their demo for the difference between 3g and 4g is a video of the Rangers scoring against the Devils

CHI-DET, LA-SJ, PIT-OTT, are all pretty tough choices, especially getting the games right too.

I noticed that about the Rangers. Our hockey pool has a pooled pot of about $100.00, and it's mostly an excuse to trash talk each other at the office Which I do.
My dark horse is the Bruins Who'd a thunk that they could conceivably be called a dark horse?

I've gotten every winner (not # of games) right so far. Two game 7's left.

What a brutal loss for Anaheim. Up 3-2 in the series. They rallied back to tie up game 6 at 3. They lose in OT. Lose in game 7 at home. Boston lost game 6 on the road last season and then lost game 7 at home to the Caps. Jersey came back on FLA down 3-2 by winning game 6 at home and 7 on the road. Both games went into OT. Double OT in game 7. It can be done. Its the Rangers turn.

i really love the fact that the Hawks/Wings rivalry is essentially getting its last hurrah via playoff series. should be a good one, despite Detroit not having the big name offensive talent that Chicago has. wish DeKeyser hadn't gotten hurt...would be a big boost to Detroits defense.

Good news for the Sens. Bad news for the Pens.

I think the Sens will beat the Pens. I expect Craig Anderson to be the difference in the series.

Sens are built to beat the Pens, IMO. Great goalie, very mobile defenders, and a better coach.

Agreed.

Glad Detroit won, they'll give the Hawks a bit of a run.

At this moment, barring further realignment, this is the last time we're going to see Det/Chi in anything but a SCF.

Yes, but Chicago and the Rangers are basically left out in the cold as Original Six teams. I know it's never going to happen, but having the 6 teams divided over 3 divisions, with Chicago-Detroit, New York-Boston and Toronto-Montreal would be amazing!
