I disagree. I think that wastes the emotional lift he brings this team and makes it unlikely he makes a big difference either way. Then again, you could do it for a shift or two, just to make sure he has legs (and at least decent pace), and then move him to 2nd line.

I guess it depends on how well he is.

If he's good to go I wouldn't have a problem with that. Fehr cannot be moved out of the top 6 so it would have to be MJ and I'm not sure he should be in the lineup if he will be a 4th liner.

I'd also be intrigued with 85 centering that top line since Nicky's head isn't in the game.

Bump Nicky to center 3rd line.

I dunno what to do about Mojo.

#21 would be good news, too, for any motorists who don't have AAA

Nick on 3rd line. That would be weird to see. I just don't see Nick moving from 1st because things went bad everything including that will be disected by analysts.

3rd line is the one line i wouldn't touch with a ten-foot pole. I would leave 85 there. They are working well together.

Personally I think he's injured. He took a big hit from Neil in that Ottawa game, towards the end of the season. Hasn't looked right since.

I have been selling the Neil theory. Never forget what Laich said. When players are playing like crap, its probably for a good reason, and that fans just do not know.

If they don't pass the eye test game after game, something is wrong. Dont over think it, but do more than say: He sucks!!!1!

I think Erskine has a big old swollen foot.

Now if Laich is in, the big question is, who is out. It should likely be Wilson. While I want someone else at 1LW, i do not see Wilson in over MJ. Start Laich on 4LW as Oates does = Laich Hendy Beagle

and by the end of the first, move him to 1LW if MJ does not impress.

If he can play top line minutes...you gotta put him with 19-8...just trying to get those two going.

Laich - Backstrom - Ovie
Fehr - Riberio - Brouwer
Chimera - Perreault - Ward
Mojo - Beagle - Hendricks

If Erat can go...I assume scratch Mojo or Hendricks and stick him on the 4th line.

Hendricks has been awesome on the PK so he can't sit.

If Laich is up to speed he had alot of chemistry in his brief stint with Brouwer and Ribs.

Fehr would be a huge boost both defensively and forchecking for Line 1.

From what i remember in years past, there is zero chemistry between 8 & 21. There's almost, like, anti-chemistry. They don't play the game the same way at all. On the other hand, we saw glimmers of something special with 21-9-20, before it eventually petered out. I'd be inclined to put #21 on line 2 and move up Fehr alongside 19 and 8. Yes, he plays a more Laich-like style of game himself, but his confidence and energy appear high. I think he might be good jolt for line 1. And i think he would force NYR to adjust the way they defend that line.

I would like to see Ward maybe get double shifted or with a tired MJ at some point, try and get Ward Mr Playoff Hero time up top. One shift to close out the first.

JoeB or someone else recently said Ward likes playing LW.

Fehr has been great but if he can't score he can't score. Ward deserves a promotion over Fehr at this point.

I know I know we cant break up Chimera MP Ward but if we can't score, who cares.

Hell I would even give Chimera a shift up top. One shift.

Its a little bit late to be tinkering but if we are losing, what do you want Oates to do - stay the course no matter what? Panic and try a little line shuffle? If the opportunity is there, go for it.

That works for me.

Let see what Oates does.

Sad commentary on the state of the NHL when fans and the media start becoming more interested and concerned about who's refereeing a game rather than what players may get a sweater or the what the lines are.

Agreed. Brooks goes into "I can do what Ovi can do" mode when he's paired with 8 on the top line. Brooks "puckhog" Laich. That line will be worse with 21 than with 90. I think Fehr is ideal on that line. Guy's got a heck of a shot, plays physical. Battles for pucks, especially along the board.

On a separate topic, one of these dudes will get a breakaway today - Brouwer, Matty P, Ovie, Backstrom, Fehr.

It's time to freaking convert already.

Stay wide, cut all the way across, be patient, finish.

Hank can be beaten like this. We've seen it this year and last.

Just snagged a seat in the rafters; still excited. Went to games 1 and 5 and the Caps won both of them; hopefully the trend continues tonight.

Laich can be a good finisher, Ribeiro really needs one on his line.

Rangers in 1.

The problem with moving Johansson off of the first line at this point is that anyone they put in his place won't have his speed, which means they'll have to change their approach. But I don't know...I'm still not really opposed to it. Putting Laich there would be a horrible move regardless.

We're gonna ****ing win and pound them into the ground. Can't wait to eliminate these diving pieces of ****, their smug ass coach, and see their fans whine after how they only lost because they got unlucky, when the only reason this didn't end in 5 was the reffing.

4-1 Caps
