I think that's what he meant, they were also lucky that Slovenia didn't have Crosby, since he's Canadian and in the NHL playoffs.

At least I hope that's what he meant, because I don't see how anyone could POSSIBLY confuse Slovenia with Slovakia lol

Obviously, with only 9 rinks in Slovenia, the talent is much less diluted than in Canada.

As someone of Slovenian heritage, nice to know we are not only competitive in sausage making.

Wow, that's complete and utter ********. What a ******. I was about to post my respects for the team, but that coach deserves to never coach hockey again. What a piece of ****.

This win over Slovenia is a changing of the guard and makes me so so proud of them.

They could get eliminated by Sweden and I would still be proud.
To overcome such great odds and come back from a 2-0 defiicit against a hockey juggernaut like Slovenia... That's more than enough victory for me.
lol and Group A powerhouse did a lot better today giving up 4 goals to Austria?

Where do we go from here; Canada has turned the hockey order on its head in a brazen upset!

A lot of congratulations to our Canadian friends, I bet that there's going to be a party in Ottawa (nation's capital) that will last for days, and that there's going to be a ton of babies being born 9 months from now with the name "Stamkos"

Slovenians, don't be hard on yourselves! Sometimes these things happen, that's what's so great about sports! It doesn't matter if you fall, it's if you get back up again that counts!
Nice ego, I'm going to laugh pretty hard if you don't medal.

We took Slovenia to overtime and won. Slovenia probably thought it would be an easy win. They must be kicking themselves for letting this game get away.

I actually think its excusable to confuse Slovenia and Slovakia, in particular now that two countries seem to get more and more equal in the hockey rink...

hey Slovenians!

Don't get depressed. As far my sports knowledge goes, u're still superior to Canada in basketball, soccer, handball, voleyball, ski jumping, skiing, parachuting... but you suck compared to huskies in curling and figure ice skating!

Hey and you don't have sexy Cindy Crosby! Ok, u have that nice looking young goalie of yours, but that's irrelevant when dazzled by Cindy's beauty...

Great game by the Slovenians yesterday. It's a game like that which makes me question just how far Canada's going to make it in this year's World Hockey Championship.

Haha, serves me right for not checking the source. I just figured since it was still there, that it was legit since that post, even if a joke, is against site rules. My apologies.

But no, I'm not some kind of punk. I was furious that the coach would talk like that, especially against the goalie. The Slovenian goalie was great.

Russia lost to France. Gave up 4 goals to Austria.

USA lost to Slovakia today - and it really wasn't close.

The only team that hasn't really run into any problems is Switzerland. And knowing their luck, they'll somehow lose in the QFs.
