Andy Delmore

Was just placed on waivers today by Buffalo, not sure what he makes but he could be the offensive defenseman the Oilers need. Could this be a possible pick-up for the Oilers?

Only if Semenov gets sent down, as he is the only guy who doesn't need to clear waivers and is still on a 2 way deal.

Or possibly put Ferguson on waivers, I like Ferguson and he has been a great team player but sometimes you have to let those guys go in order to improve the team and I think Delmore would help the team.

Despite his defensive shortcomings, Edmonton could use a guy like Delmore to help establish more offense form the back-end. However, if Oiler fans hated Poti, they're going to serve this guy on a platter. His million dollar contract doesn't help any, either.

The problem is Salary... the Oilers can't really afford to pay a guy like Ferguson and not have him doing something on the team.

As for Delmore... he might help the power play, but every time he is on the ice defensively he hurts his team.

It was mentioned earlier that if you could play 7 defencemen, he might be a valuable guy... but you can't really rely on him to do anything defensively.

Pair him up with a good defensive defenseman like Smith and hopefully he will cover him. If he makes too much money, forget it.

Honestly, I think a more time in the AHL would be good for Bergeron. He is good but he could use some more pro experience, he gives the puck away a lot. Is Delmore that bad defensively? His +/- doesn't seem too bad other than a cuople years on a weak Nashville team.

Actually wouldn't mind seeing Delmore in a Oiler uni. Could help the PP as he did in Philly and Nashville. Don't really know alot about his defensive play.
