Looking forward to Laich taking Ribs spot as 2C ("THE HEART AND SOUL OF THE CAPITALS GUYS"), Erskine skating top 4 minutes, Schultz continuing to occupy a roster spot, Orlov shuttling back and forth between Hershey and DC, and a summer full of listening to GMGM say "it's time to evaluate" before replacing Hendricks with Adam Hall, a move that Ted hails as "showing this organization's constant desire to improve and build a winning foundation."

Hooray for mediocrity.

Interesting to ponder. Flyers are a mess but who knows what they end up being with an offseason upheaval. Rags are hard to peg as well pending something like a compliance buyout for Richards. Pens will do well. Isles depends on whether they get NHL goaltending; same for Devils. CAR and CBJ could end up on either end.

I left the TV on but stopped paying attention. The one redeeming feature of the game: They played a Bad Religion song during the handshakes.

Pretty much this...they gave him too long of a contract. Hypothetically, if he's a 70 point player by the age of 30 then you guys will be paying him 9.5m a year for the next 5 years which will only hurt the team. I hope he keeps up what he did this year or in earlier years of his career

I've been a Leafs/Caps fan since 1982.

Quick, somebody shoot me.

I feel like that "Old Yeller" dog I remember reading as a kid.

On the plus side, Rangers will play a team that is allowed by the league to play physical and will really expose the rangers for the ******* they are.

I don't get Backstrom. He's such a likable guy and he just oozes skill but he's consistently nowhere to be found in the playoffs.

The local "media" will say nothing. How pathetic is it that Brian Mitchell probably will be the only one demanding changes?

Does Ottawa have the cap space to trade for a superstar goal scorer?

At least we will always be able to laugh at the Rags feeble PP this series.

We literally could make no mistakes retaliating!

Alzner and Backstrom smiled (smiled!) during the handshakes.... **** them

OV and many other Caps seemed pissed and sullen... as they should be.

I'm a habs fan

I remember when there were actual rumours of the possibility of Ovechkin joining the habs

It's super early but I like Columbus should Bobrovsky's season not be a fluke. Much rests with what CAR, NJD, PHI and (I suppose) WSH do in the off-season to get better and address weaknesses.

They wouldn't have won the cup anyway so like whatever. I don't want to root for this team anymore. That was last playoff game for me this year.

I figured if any team is willing to take on that contract it'd be a Canadian team. :p

The good news: I can focus on the rest of the playoffs going forward and watch some REAL teams play.

1 regulation goal in our last 3 games. None of them at ES.

This sucks right now, but its whatever. Hopefully we shake it up a bit in the summer and become a better team. I'm hoping to resign ribs as well.
